7) What kinds of photos should I select?
Select photos of your family and friends. Go through
old albums and select baby photos of the bride and groom
and their parents. Pets, group shots, and vacation photos
make excellent subject matter.
Please indicate if you have any special requests for
placement. Otherwise, we will create a composition that
we think looks best.
8) How do I make a photo quilt? Do you offer instructions, or free photo quilt patterns for making a photo quilt?
Making a photo quilt is not an easy task. We take the hard work out of it by offering an inexpensive way to create a family photo quilt they will treasure forever.
If however, you are up to the task, start by creating a quilt with white cotton fabric spaces in the pattern you wish to place your photos. It is up to you how many and how large the "photo squares" will be but it is important that they are large enough to accomodate your photo transfer. We recommend using no less than six favorite family photos.
Scan your photos into your computer at a high resolution - 200dpi or more. You are going to print the photos onto an ink jet transfer paper. Make sure when you print the photos, you are flipping them so that when they are transferred, they will not be backwards. You can get creative with the borders of the photos.
Use your iron and follow the instructions on the back of the transfer paper to adhere the photos to your quilt. |
