Wondering what to give your bridesmaids before your wedding? Here are some suggestions.

Bridesmaids gifts don't need to be extravagent, just thoughtful. Think of gifts that will show them how much they mean to you as friends and will help them remember that they are each an important part of your wedding.

The easiest way to shop for a bridesmaid gifts is online. There are many websites that cater to wedding gifts, favors, and bridesmaids gifts. Some gift suggestions are:

Anything engraved or embroidered adds that personal touch. Suggestions are votive candles, jewelry like a necklace or bracelet, an embroidered hankie or evening handbag. Engraved wine glasses, fancy barrettes or combs for their hair, printed bud vases or a personalized jewelry box, or potpourri box.

Kits are always fun. Aromatherapy or spa kits will hit the spot. An antique silver-plated tussy mussy is always elegant, as are friendship bookmarks, and monogrammed towels or pillows. You could also give them chocolates or a subscription to the chocolate of the month club. What woman doesn't like chocolate!

If she likes to write, give her a Cross pen set or personalized stationary. If she's into photography, give her a picture frame with a picture of the two of you or a photo album. Cologne is always nice or a gift set of fancy soaps or a makeup brush set. Be creative. You could also give each bridesmaid a special gift that she would like. My wedding is on Decemeber of this year and I am having eight bridesmaids...I am always on the look out for sales...this past Sunday I bought my bridesmaids some really nice jewelry boxes that were 60% of the lowest red tag sale and I ended up paying $1.29 per box and the total I paid for all thejewelry boxes did not even add up to the retail price of one...so I recommend to just look out for those sales even if your wedding is months away because you can get great gifts for a fraction of the price.

Gift ideas for your groomsmen - We got them shaving/shower bags and had them monogrammed and filled them with travel-sized tolietries. Another ideas is the Igloo coolers (round, 1 gallon) and fill them with 4-6 bottles of different kinds of beer and/or a fun t-shirt.

My fiance is an avid outdoorsman and for his groomsmen he bought them each a fishing pole. It worked out great for his group of friends, because they each get alot of use out of it, and it is fun. Buy them something that they will use for years to come rather than something they will just stick on a shelf.

Respone to Ether, 2/21/04...We're getting married in Aug of this year and it will be an outdoor reception so rather than go with the traditional chocolate/candy favors, we've decided to give bulbs so that our guests can plant them in the fall.

My wedding is on the 12th of June, 2004 and I am currently looking for gifts for my bridal party. I have decided to purchase monogramed tote bags and fill the bags with spa kits, candles and or makeup brush kits, articles that the girls like and can use.

I am getting married May 15th...we are having 8 attendants on each side. For my bridesmaids I am doing engraved jewlery boxes, their bridal jewlery, tussie mussies with preserved roses (look and feel just like real but last for years) and engraved small totes. For our Groomsmen we did personalized beer mugs and a jacket of their favorit sports team (NASCAR, NFL, NCAA, ETC).

I am having an artist make a unique piece for each of my girls, she is going off of things I have written about each so they will be unique and individualized. Sounds expensive but each piece will be $20.00. for a 5x7 picture. Just an idea if anyone has a starving artist friend or family memeber. They would probably be honrored.

Lori I love your Idea, I will have to consider it. I would love to recieve that. For the groomsman we are going to a local Bewery that Allows you to make your own beer and you get to creat your own lable also. So we are going to give them some of our beer and an ingraved beer mug.

Lori, that sounds like a wonderful gift. I am thinking of getting each of my girls a bottle of Vera Wang perfume and the guys a bottle of cologne. We are also kicking around the idea of throwing the whole bridal party a thank-you barbeque bash when we return from our honeymoon.

I am giving each of my bridesmaids a Waterford Crystal picture frame along with a stone choker necklace to wear the day of the wedding. During the wedding I am asking the Photographer to take a picture of each bridemaid and me to put in the frame.

Help-- I love picture frames but i have 3 from other weddings and so do most of my brides maids. I wanted something different and I'm having a hard time picking a gift for my Bridesmaids. I was thinking of very small diamond earings they are at the jewellers where I got my ring it will be about $45 can. each pair. i am getting married in november. i don't have a lot of money to spend on the gifts and wanted something that each of them could appreciate. since most of the ladies have been in other weddings and received keychains, frames, jewelry, etc. i decided to hand sew matching handbags and place tickets for free drinks at the reception. i realize that it may not be a "personal" gift such as having their names engraved on something, but i know that these girls would appreciate it more than their name on a keychain.

Just an idea - our entire wedding party came from other states...we paid for one night in the hotel and then I gave the bridesmaids jewelry (not very unique) and my husband bought a Leatherman for each groomsman (like a Swiss Army knife but different) and engraved them with a nickname or few words that triggered memories of an inside joke that they shared.

To the person who said that Coach is overrated, I disagree. I think lots of girls (and guys) would love to get something from Coach. For my "girls" I have been shopping for approx. 1 year! Every sale I see I hit and get great bargins!!!!!!! I not only hit "brandname" stores but also flower shops for trinkets. I actually got a picture tree(s) for $2 each, in one of my wedding colours. If you know of people who work in the retail industry this is also helpful in the respect that he/she can tell you when there will be a sale or where to find all of the great deals.

I planned a slumber party for my bridesmaid. I got them all matching pj's odered pizza, rented chick flicks and exchanged "boy" stories. We had a wonderful time and most importantly a night we will always remember.

All of my bridesmaids are scrapbookers (or wannabes), so I just purchased the Creative Memories 7x7 Promise album, the page protectors and the wedding snap pack. They will each be able to order pictures off of my photographer's website and put together a small scrapbook of the day. And, it will be a great excuse to all reunite a month or so after the wedding and talk about the wedding and all the memories. The total was less than $50 per bridesmaid and completely worth it as they will have the scrapbook forever!

We are getting married in Jamaica, February 5, 2005. My fiancee and I currently live in NC and all of our family & friends are from MA. Needless to say, we have about 20 guests flying in to Jamaica to celebrate 3 to 7 days with us. I am having a MOH and 2 BM's.

The shirts already made in the stores were running $30-$40. I also made them flip flops with the crystals to match the shirts (those cost $145 in the stores). To finish my gifts I got them Coach wristlets because I love Coach and they are doing so much for me. The wristlets are only $48 and if you can afford it or don't have that many bridesmaids why not?

I started early for my bridesmaids, but I am putting together a spa/bath & body basket, I found some great sale items at several stores I bought bath confetti, loofahs, pumice & brush bars/ floating candles/ pillar candles, mosaic compact mirrors, facial scrub, foot scrub, bath fizzies all in my wedding colors and each item was $2.00 or less, I am constantly on the lookout & adding more things as I come across them (I still have 6 months) I'll put everyting in a galvanized bucket you can get a craft stores & also a monogrammed bracelt. My fiance and i are paying for our wedding ourselves so we are definetly on a budget. So i went to Ross and purchased 4 really nice Kenneth Cole large tote bags and i went to our local embroidery shop and got their intials put on the front. Each bag was originally $58.00 but since it was at Ross i only paid $15.00. What a deal-huh? And i even bought myself one to match. I thought that would be perfect for all of us to bring full of all our wedding day neccessities. One last thing that i thought was great,each letter was only $1.00 to put on -Look into it. If you don't have a place to do it another great idea is at Michaels(craft store) they sell rhinestone iron on letters that you can put on yourself-also very cheap in price. I am also going to fill them with cool bags with stuff like candles and lotions and other girly stuff.

My fiance doesn't have any ideas for his groomsmen, but I like the pullover jacket idea. That's cool. Also, thought I'd tell you that for our wedding favors, we decided to do small paper sacks with tags(not sure what they'll say yet) filled with our favorite treats/snacks...kind of like a "goodie bag" for our guests and they learn a little bit about what we like. I don't know about you...but I have a box in my closet full of wedding favors that I'll never be able to put to use:)

Every year, Wedgwood puts out an "annual box," and this year there are two which are ideal for bridesmaid gifts. One is a blue jasperware egg with cupid on the front, and the other is a pink jasperware heart. They are both just under $50 which is a little pricey, but if you have room in your budget, they make really beautiful keepsakes and definitely deviate from the traditional key chains and picture frames. So I've decided to get them a straw beach bag and fill it with beach towel, sandals, lip balm, tank top, bottle water, suncreen and all sorts of stuff for the beach. I'm having a Hawiian themed wedding on the beach. I'm giving my bridesmaids bags I got from the Oriental Trading Company, very inexpensive, filling the bags with things for the beach. For the wedding favors we wrote a verse thanking everyone for celebrating our day with us. I bought unfinished frames from Oriental Trading company. They were $10.00 for a dozen. We stained them and stuck the verse inside the frame. Instead of giving everyone a frame, we're giving one per family. It cost us about $40.00.

laura, have a manicure pedicure party before the wedding for your girls. take them all to a salon or do it at home and have a girls night (facials, pizza, movies, etc.).

Mikasa has the cutest crystal candle holders that are like 3-4 dollars each. I am having 7 Bridesmaid and all are wearing a different color like the rainbow in the wedding. Each candle holder I am putting the color candle that they are wearing. I can't think of anything else to go with it. Any ideas? I need simple...and inexpensive.

I am putting together baskets in my theme colors-- bright pink and green. Here are my gifts: freshwater pearl triple strand necklaces. I got the idea from turqbridal.com but found something just as cute and half the price at TJ Maxx ($30 each). Got all 7 necklaces at only two different store locatons (I'm from a big city). I went to the garment district in NYC and bought button freshwater pearls to make earrings ($2.10 each pair). ALL REAL PEARLS! My mom found some bright green "faux pashmina" shawls on clearance at the department store ($10 each). I'm making "J. Crew ish" grosgrain ribbon belts (each will have their own design in pink and/or green)-- go to strandodesigns.com for a good selection. I have little pink canvas totes from a GAP outlet with green liners and brown leather handles that I am going to get monogrammed (8.99 each). And I might make green toile jewelry bags too. Go to outlets, TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshalls, start hunting early, and I suggest not spending the money on expensive engraved frames. She will really only be able to display a picture from your wedding, which makes it difficult if she would like to use the frame to display pictures of other people.

I love the Coach bags idea. Any girl would love to get a designer purse, especially if it's a gift. Like someone said, it's not something you would buy everyday. It's expensive. But everytime you see one at the store, you always wish you can afford to buy one.. So i think they'll love this one.. I'm already set on getting purses, just need to go to the Outlet store to look for sales. My maid of honor is my sister and my bridesmaids are my bestfriends. I don't mind spending a little bit more because they deserve them.

This gift idea is rather big but get them each a set of jack stands. They run about 20-25 $ a pair. You could engrave them if you wanted. Also buy ones in you wedding colors (if its not pink or purple)

I'm getting married in June and have four bridesmaids. I've decided to treat them pick something out for each one individually. So, I'm just treating it as I would a birthday or Christmas gift. For my friend who LOVES to cook, I bought her a cooking class at Sur La Table. For my spa friend, a mani-pedi. Most of us know our BM's pretty well, so I think it's easier to buy them what you know they would like vs. getting them all the same thing. Don't do things the same way just because it's always been done that way. :) Congrats to you all.

We are getting married in my best friends backyard-where we had our first date at a barbeque. She is also my Maid of Honor - so we are giving her an early gift... flowers & bulbs of her choice to plant in the garden she started last year. We are getting married in front of it. I am also gettting her & my cousin (my only bridesmaid) bath robes & spa certificates. I plan to also do a small scrapbook for each of them starting with past moments/memories & ending with wedding pictures. We do, however need ideas for the men... I like the swiss army knife idea... For my bridesmaids, I bought them each a book about friendship, and one about being sisters for my matron of honor. I also bought each of them a large ceramic bowl from Crate and Barell Outlet. I am putting the book, monogrammed make-up bags, and confetti bath productsin there. I then bought each of them something that is more personal. For example, a yoga mat w/ a patchwork shoulder bag, a jewelry box that says: Hope, Faith, Love, etc. I'm still shoppping for 3 of the girls. For my 2 ushers I bought cardboard popcorn containers. I am going to fill them with popcorn and put Cubs tickets in there for this summer.

Bridget- I like the swiss knife idea too but since you met at a BBQ and the wed is outdoors it would cute to with a set of grilling tools, or even grill marinades. I bet that would be a great hit. Just some ideas.

I am getting married in June 2006, but starting early. I live in GA. and am putting together spa kits for my 8 bridesmaids. I found wire crome baskets, bath salts, body wash, pumice brush, and lotion at Target in a dollar section. Everything was a dollar, so I only spent about $50 total for gifts for all of my bridesmaids!! It was a great deal... and I just bought them so they are still at target if you want to buy early or are looking for a last minute idea.

About the Fossil watches for the groomsman....There is a Fossil Outlet in Commerce GA and several more...Try doing an internet search for locations of one near you! Watches at a Fossil Outlet can run about $20 ...which is a great inexpensive gift for the guys!

I know the question about flower girls gifts was months ago, but i guess lots of people have flower girls. When i was about 5 i was a flower girl for my uncle, and he bought both my cousin and me pearl necklaces. They are adult chokers, so as a child they were quite large, but as I've got older (now I'm 21) its got tighter and sexier. The little girls grow up into women!! I really love the necklace, and it's lasted far longer than the marriage!

for my girls i'm getting their jewlery and make- up bags from Kenneth Cole. For my maid of honor and matron I am getting a little something extra that is more personal. My maid of honor travels a lot so i'm getting her personalized stationary and an engraved business card holder. For my marton of honor I'm getting her a photo album that she has always had her eye on. For the guys , we are getting leatherman utility tools that are going to have their initials engraved, a gift they can use eveyday!

For my wedding I am having one of my best guy friends stand up with me. As this eliminates the jewlery, smelly bath stuff etc from the list of possibles I am giving each a little "fun pack" depending on their personalities! I am putting everything into wicker baskets I found at Ikea with ribbons matching my colors weaved in. In each basket I am putting a bottle of their favorite alcohol or tea (I have a non-drinker) and the proper glasses with a filler item - I am giving the guy in the party a bottle of really nice Tequilla, 2 margarita glasses, kosher salt and a lime. For the wine drinker a really nice bottle of wine, 2 proper glasses, and a fancy corkscrew. The tea drinker is getting a selection of loose leaf teas, 2 tea cups and a small tea pot.

I am also looking for unique gifts to give my bridemaids. I thought about art work that reflected each ones personality, since I am an artist. Then I also found recipes for sugar scrubs and bubble bath, and thought about including a robe and a bottle of wine. I have until September to decide. A favor for this time of year is gourmet nut wrapped in burlap.

I wanted to share my ideas in hopes that I can help someone else. I got for the entire wedding party including ourselves engraved beer mugs. We will all have them at the head table during the dinner event, which should be lots of fun... We even bought a small mug for our flowergirl. We then got something a little more personalized for each person. A bottle of wine for the wine drinker. A flask with his favorite whiskey inside for our Whiskey drinker. A pearl necklace for my sorority sister. A cute T-shirt for our flower-girl. A candle holder and assorted votives for the candle lover. Think about their hobbies or things that they really enjoy, and get them something that relates to that. If you know it interests them, they are going to love their gift.

I'm getting married October 8th and we came up with a fun idea for our guests. We are getting everyone socks. They will be monogrammed so when you look at your foot it will read "Thanks for starting us off on the right foot" and our names and wedding date will be on the sock sleeve. We thought it was pretty unique!

I am getting married on 8-13-06. I have not asked any bridesmaids or the Maid of Honor yet. I was going to give them a tote bag filled with a journal and a tank with "bridesmaid", etc written on it. My fiance has a hobby, he is a drummer in a band and would love to have a new set of drums for himself. With all the wedding planning he doesn't have the money to do that right now! I have decided to get him that new set and give it to him at the wedding. The guys will hopefully help me pull it off. It is expensive, but he will like that better then an expensive watch!

All of these ideas are great! I have three bridesmaids and I'm giving them each a monogrammed bag. I have a friend who is making their jewelery and that will go inside the bag. Each of my girls love coffee so I'm putting a fun travel mug (different color and style to match the girl's personalities) and a bag of some flavored coffee. I was also thinking of some comfortable pjs to go along with. I really like personalized travel kit for the guys!

I booked each of my 4 bridesmaids (and myself) a 4 hours treatment package at a local day spa. And I got them each matching velour tracksuits. I got them at Walmart of all places. The zip up hoddies and matching pants were each only $16.98 each!! And they are so comfy I got myself a set too!!I will get them each embroidered for my girls.

Forgot.........you can book facials, pedicures etc., at any beauty school for a more reasonable rate than a day spa.

When we picked a date, we invited the people who we wanted to be in our wedding over for a dinner party. I had all my girls there and asked them to be my bridesmaids. They were so touched,..They know how much they all mean to me. It was a good night. I also thought about taking them out to dinner and asking them over dinner,...just the girls, ya know, a few cocktails...fun!

As my "material" gift for my bridesmaids i'm going to pay for them to get their hair and make-up done the morning of the ceremony, but there real gift (as well as for the groomsmen) is going to be more sentimental. my fiance and i are going to put together a sort of hodgepodge of items that remind us of the special people we have chosen to be part of our day. we're going to think of stories/memories that make us think of each individual and we're going to put together some type of bag for each of them with these memories enclosed. i'm also thinking of having my videographer (who's also doing my video montage for my reception) put together a separate one for my wedding party like a memory type thing.

I hand painted some terracotta pots in theme with the wedding and put the bridal party names on them too. the pots themselves were $2 each. I can give to each with some seeds or a candle.

I'm giving my girls their evening purse fill with their jewellry, a pack of tissues, tic tacs, mini purfume, disposable camera, things they'll need that day and pretty flip flops to match their dresses for later on in the night.

I went to the Coach Outlet and purchased wristlets for about $25 each; soft slippers that match their dresses for the reception, on sale $5; a book; and a travel jewlery roll, $15 each. I spent approximately $50 on each attendant. My fiance went with humidors for his groomsmen.

I got my girls all of their accessories for the day. I know it is a little overdone, but always appreciated. They put out the money for the dress. So, I bought them each a nice small fancy handbag (their dresses are black) and filled it with a jewellery set to wear that day, a small shawl, flowers for their hair and little toiletries (mini deodorant, hand lotion, breath mints and perfume spritzer bottles to fill with their favourite) Huge hit!
