| jackie -- Tuesday, March 4 2003, 06:48 pm I have being asked to do bridesmaid baskets and so far your
is the best site I have found regarding this area. I am
still looking for information aout the maid of honor
Lily -- Friday, June 6 2003, 06:20 pm My wedding is on Decemeber of this year and I am having
eight bridesmaids...I am always on the look out for
sales...this past Sunday I bought my bridesmaids some really
nice jewelry boxes that were 60% of the lowest red tag sale
and I ended up paying $1.29 per box and the total I paid for
all thejewelry boxes did not even add up to the retail price
of one...so I recommend to just look out for those sales
even if your wedding is months away because you can get
great gifts for a fraction of the price.
mike -- Tuesday, July 8 2003, 05:29 pm I really need some ideas for groomsman gifts. I am looking
for something a little more than a money clip or a flask
with there name engraved on it. Any one have any creative
ideas?
Kim -- Thursday, July 17 2003, 02:31 pm My fiancee and I were just in a wedding and the groom gave
the groomsmen a Swiss army knife. All of the guys though it
was a really unique idea. Plus it is actually useful!
Terri -- Friday, July 18 2003, 06:39 pm My wedding is in September of 04. I'm going to have 6
bridesmaids. I found some nice lenox heart frames on ebay.
I plan to also give each maid a lenox vase to hold her silk
flower bouquet.
Jenni -- Sunday, July 20 2003, 11:06 pm I had a hard time coming up with bridesmaids gifts, because
I didn't want to just give them the usual jewelry for them
to wear that day. I ended up getting them all the Waterford
Wedding Ring Dish, and wrapping it in a personalized jewelry
bag with each girl's initials.
Amy -- Wednesday, August 13 2003, 12:46 pm My fiance came up with the idea of taking his best man &
ushers to a sporting event. He was originally going to take
them all to a baseball game, but I think he will end up
taking them to a hockey game that is a little closer to the
wedding. They won't have a physical gift but they're sure
to have some great memories!
April -- Thursday, August 21 2003, 02:17 pm I am getting married in Sept. and for my bridemaids I got
them all little personalized trinket boxes and for the
groomsmen beer mugs that are also personalized. I am trying
to think of something to fill them with, especially the beer
mugs. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.
D -- Monday, August 25 2003, 12:25 am Gift ideas for your groomsmen - We got them shaving/shower
bags and had them monogrammed and filled them with
travel-sized tolietries. Another ideas is the Igloo coolers
(round, 1 gallon) and fill them with 4-6 bottles of
different kinds of beer and/or a fun t-shirt.
Tara -- Tuesday, August 26 2003, 01:48 pm My fiance is an avid outdoorsman and for his groomsmen he
bought them each a fishing pole. It worked out great for
his group of friends, because they each get alot of use out
of it, and it is fun. Buy them something that they will use
for years to come rather than something they will just stick
on a shelf.
Kellie -- Tuesday, September 30 2003, 12:28 pm My fiance wanted a unique gift that the guys would actually
use. He got them all pull over jackets with their initials
engraved on them. They are great for golf or any outdoor
use and were affordable.
Coralee -- Sunday, November 9 2003, 08:12 pm I am having my 3 sisters as my bridesmaides so I am thinking
of having rings made with four diamonds in them representing
myself and my three sisters. This is a wonderful way to
remember my wedding day and my three sisters when we are not
together. What do you think?
Ryne' -- Friday, December 5 2003, 05:15 pm My fiance won five pocket watches off of ebay and he's
having them engraved with their initials. I'm also making
potpouri out of all the roses he gave me while we dated and
I'm putting them in little boxes with bows for my
bridesmaids cause they've watched our love "blossom and
bloom".
TRACI -- Sunday, January 11 2004, 07:12 pm I am having a hard time coming up with something to give to
my bridemaids. I want something different for them. I have
one that is a school teacher and she is my sister, the one
is a hair stylist and is my best friend. and the other one
is a very close friend that has let me adopt her son as my
nephew. so all three of these people play a special part of
my life and i want to get them something that they would
really enjoy and rememeber this day when we are so far
apart. any ideas. pleae help.
Patricia- June 12, 2004 -- Thursday, January 22 2004, 09:51 am My fiance & I wanted to give our bridal party unique gifts.
We're giving the groomsmen Coach wallets & the bridesmaids
Coach wristlet bags.
Nina -- Saturday, January 31 2004, 09:31 pm I found wooden jewelry boxes for my bridesmaids and I am
going to put necklaces with amethyst charms- each one unique
in each box. For the guys, we found Tommy Hilfiger wallets
on sale and we are going to include a gift card for each
guy's favorite store.
Gina -- Sunday, February 15 2004, 04:40 am This is in response to Patricia's entry on Jan. 22, 2004.
"Coach" is so overrated and expensive.
Camilla -- Monday, February 16 2004, 08:47 am I still don't know what to get my bridesmaids or the
groomsmen for that matter! However, my friend bought her
bridesmaids silver engraved/monogrammed jewelry trays and
bought her groomsmen silver engraved/monogrammed business
card holders.
Sheeda -- Thursday, February 19 2004, 08:41 pm I have no idea what to get my bridesmaids either, however I
did like the idea of the engraved vase to put the silk
flowers in. I will probably have that in a basket filled
with goodies like unique shades to wear on the day of the
wedding, perfume samples, and maybe spa stuff, but it still
seems like something either doesn't sound right or is
missing. Anyone out there have some more ideas? As far as
the groomsmen definitly swiss army knife ( engraved)
esther -- Saturday, February 21 2004, 11:45 pm I like the idea of having engraved pocket watches for the
groomsmen, but I am still at a loss for the bridesmaids.
We're paying for everything ourselves, so every penny
counts. We are still not sure about wedding favors for the
guests. Any ideas?
Tammy -- Sunday, February 22 2004, 01:24 pm Respone to Ether, 2/21/04...We're getting married in Aug of
this year and it will be an outdoor reception so rather than
go with the traditional chocolate/candy favors, we've
decided to give bulbs so that our guests can plant them in
the fall.
carmen -- Wednesday, February 25 2004, 04:39 am I have no idea what would be good to give my bridal party as
gifts when six out of the bridal party are children between
the ages of 101/2 to 15 years of age. any ideas
CANDY O. DESIGNS -- Thursday, February 26 2004, 12:53 pm If anyone is interested I design handmade gifts for every
occasion. These items are very unique and are personally
made by me in my spare time. I create baskets woven from
silky cords, entwined around a metal frame. I decorate the
baskets with colorful feathered butterflies, crystal
accessories and ribbons. the basket can also be turned
upside down to be used as a lamp shade. (the bottom of the
basket is mesh wire). I also design keepsake boxes in a
variety of sizes. I decorate lucite boxes with gems, stained
glass tiles and crystals. I give my personal creations as
gifts to my friends and loved ones.
CANDY O. DESIGNS 1-917-543-6436 RIVERDALE NEW YORK -- Thursday, February 26 2004, 12:55 pm Call me it you need any ideas.
Megan -- Thursday, March 4 2004, 06:50 pm Carmen - Check out www.foofoozie.com They are perfect for
that age!
CHANTA' - June 12th 2004 -- Tuesday, March 9 2004, 12:17 pm My wedding is on the 12th of June, 2004 and I am currently
looking for gifts for my bridal party. I have decided to
purchase monogramed tote bags and fill the bags with spa
kits, candles and or makeup brush kits, articles that the
girls like and can use.
KIMBERLY -- Wednesday, March 10 2004, 05:18 pm I am getting married May 15th...we are having 8 attendants
on each side. For my bridesmaids I am doing engraved
jewlery boxes, their bridal jewlery, tussie mussies with
preserved roses (look and feel just like real but last for
years) and engraved small totes. For our Groomsmen we did
personalized beer mugs and a jacket of their favorit sports
team (NASCAR, NFL, NCAA, ETC).
Jessica -- Friday, March 12 2004, 10:55 am I would like to put together a canvas tote bag for each of
my bridesmaids for them to take with them to the wedding
since it is out of state. I was planning on decorating the
outsides with their names and stuff. I would also like to
put some little goodies inside that they could use the
weekend of the wedding and I am in need of some ideas.
Anybody got any?
Stephanie -- Sunday, March 14 2004, 10:24 am I am having an artist make a unique piece for each of my
girls, she is going off of things I have written about each
so they will be unique and individualized. Sounds expensive
but each piece will be $20.00. for a 5x7 picture. Just an
idea if anyone has a starving artist friend or family
memeber. They would probably be honrored.
Joanna -- Sunday, March 14 2004, 05:58 pm I bought the outfits of my 5 bridesmaids including their
shoes - i made their jewellery for them - and so for their
gift i bought a matching bag to wear with the shoes later on
and i just dont know what else to get to finish it off?
should i go pamper kit or picture frame?
Jessica -- Monday, March 22 2004, 12:37 pm Joanna, I would go pamper kit. That is a little more unique
than a picture frame, unless you plan on getting the frames
ingraved.
Lori -- Tuesday, March 23 2004, 05:40 pm I am putting baskets together for my girls, with plush bath
robes, pajama's, 2 Victorias Secret bath product per each
girl, Candles, and a necklace I handmade for each of them.
Bath robes you can by at www.cypress.com 1-866-347-7623
(10.50 per robe) they sell to hotels & spa's so you can get
a great rate. Victorias Secret has buy 5 products for $30 -
get 10 products at $60 and split them up between the girls,
Candles you can make yourself, by wax and wicks at Michael's
(40% off coupon in Sunday Papers) and use square milk carton
as a mold, and beads and lanyard from a craft store for the
necklaces. Pajama's I bought at Walmart in plain black and I
am having "Bridesmaid" printed along the "butts" of the
pajama shorts.
kaliaribird@aol.com if I can help anymore!
Sarah -- Wednesday, March 24 2004, 03:02 pm Lori I love your Idea, I will have to consider it. I would
love to recieve that.
For the groomsman we are going to a local Bewery that Allows
you to make your own beer and you get to creat your own
lable also. So we are going to give them some of our beer
and an ingraved beer mug.
Janine -- Wednesday, March 24 2004, 06:51 pm Lori, that sounds like a wonderful gift. I am thinking of
getting each of my girls a bottle of Vera Wang perfume and
the guys a bottle of cologne. We are also kicking around the
idea of throwing the whole bridal party a thank-you barbeque
bash when we return from our honeymoon.
Anna -- Saturday, March 27 2004, 04:43 am I so badly want to be a bridesmaid and so does my sister, if
you need two medievil bridesmaids contact...
anna@solutionzone.co.uk
Thanx
Kelly -- Friday, April 2 2004, 10:59 pm I am giving each of my bridesmaids a Waterford Crystal
picture frame along with a stone choker necklace to wear the
day of the wedding. During the wedding I am asking the
Photographer to take a picture of each bridemaid and me to
put in the frame.
Haley -- Sunday, April 4 2004, 04:52 pm Lori, I love your idea. I tried getting on the website you
gave, www.cypress.com, and it is some sort of communications
webiste. I am not seeing anything about robes. Are you
sure that is the right website?
Veronica -- Monday, April 5 2004, 07:26 pm Lori
Thank you I really like this and the stuff is useful. I
think i will do this PJ's are great mainly because all my
girls are flying in for my wedding for all across canada. I
know they will all forget some things
An other Idea for those traveling guest are a basket with
wine and things from the local area. I'm doing this for the
family that travels in from England as a thank-you for

Jami -- Friday, April 9 2004, 01:37 pm Haley- the correct website is:
cypressbathrobes.com
Susan -- Wednesday, April 21 2004, 08:49 pm I am throwing my sister a bridal shower and need some ideas

Laura -- Sunday, April 25 2004, 08:38 pm Lori or Jami - can you tell me how to buy the robes off
cypressbathrobes.com without having a corporate account?
Laura -- Sunday, April 25 2004, 08:45 pm Sorry - I just figured out how you buy a robe off
cypressbathrobes.com - you have to e-mail the people if you
are a private customer.
Laura -- Sunday, April 25 2004, 09:08 pm Sorry - I just figured out how you buy a robe off

Melissa -- Tuesday, May 25 2004, 04:07 pm To all of those wishing to purchase robes from Cypress
Robes, you can do so by emailing us at the address listed on
www.cypressbathrobes.com or by calling our toll-free number
1-866-347-7623. The price listed by Lori is incorrect. Our
waffle robes start at 24 dollars and up. The terry velour
robes start at 46 dollars and up. Our microfiber robes are
$125. We also have terry, waffle, and microfiber shower
wraps.
We have received so many emails and calls about the robes

listning them at this price and correct it.. so that you all
would know before calling.
Thanks so much.

V -- Thursday, May 27 2004, 10:04 pm Help-- I love picture frames but i have 3 from other
weddings and so do most of my brides maids. I wanted
something different and I'm having a hard time picking a
gift for my Bridesmaids. I was thinking of very small
diamond earings they are at the jewellers where I got my
ring it will be about $45 can. each pair. They are very
small is it not worth it because they are small. or is it
nice because none of them have diamond earings, and they can
where them for the cermony if they like I was thinking of
going with the Diamonds are forever so are best friends for
the card
Claire -- Tuesday, June 8 2004, 10:11 pm If anyone had great ideas but not too spendy for bridesmaid
gifts, please let me know!
Thanks
Heidi -- Thursday, June 10 2004, 07:57 pm We are doing cuff links for the guys and having their
initials engraved in them. Something that they will use
again but probably never buy for themselves.
For the girls we got bathrobes and had their initials
embroidered on them along with a gift certificate to a spa
for a massage.
Kerri -- Friday, June 11 2004, 04:02 pm Esther...
wedding favor for the guest. Think about making a
wedding music cd. You can get 50 cd-rom's for under $20.
Then just burn music that means something to you and you
fiance.
Jessie -- Wednesday, June 16 2004, 10:20 am To all of the brides that are interested in making the great
baskets that Lori mentioned and need cheaper robes to put
into the baskets,go to www.jcpennys.com, jcpenny's is having
a great sale on there terri cloth robes, $15.00 per robe,
and there are many colors to choose from.I am getting
married 9/17/05 of next year, am I am starting to grab
things here and there, I also suggest going to ikea for the
baskets, they just had a sale for very nice (small medium,
and large) wicker baskets, I bought 9 large baskets for 3.99
a piece,about 40.00 total for all 9, I thought that was a
great deal. Good luck to all of you brides :) Jessie
Ann-Marie -- Friday, June 18 2004, 11:03 am Lori, I love your idea. I am definatley going to use it.
Abby -- Tuesday, June 22 2004, 04:34 pm I'm getting married in September of 2004, and I'm trying to
come up with unique and heartfelt gifts for my bridesmaids:
4 best friends and soon-to-be sister in law. I don't want to
do the traditional jewelry or picture frames, so here's my
idea. Tell me what you think.
I'm going to buy pretty photo albums, and in the first few
pages, include some of my favorite memories of each girl
(sort of writing a book, if you will) and then leave the
rest of the pages blank for them to fill w/ their own
memories. What do you think?
Sue -- Wednesday, June 23 2004, 06:29 pm As part of our wedding party's gifts, me and my finace asked
each member of the wedding party for their 2 favorite love
songs(telling them the DJ needed them) then we are compiling
them all on a CD and ginving them as part of each person's
gift.
Vickie Burch -- Thursday, June 24 2004, 03:08 pm I am looking for monogrammed lampshades do you have them.
Christina -- Tuesday, July 6 2004, 07:01 pm Thanks to Lori I now have a unique ides for my bridesmaids.
Giving them bath robes and including spa stuff is a GREAT
idea. Thanks Again!!
Janet -- Friday, July 9 2004, 08:53 pm I bought my bridesmaid the LL Bean tote bag with the color
of their choosing ( I had to be sneaky about this) with
their monogram on it. Everyone can always use another bag to
tote things around with.
Evenstar Perez -- Tuesday, July 13 2004, 12:02 pm I found wonderful favors online at the oriental trading
company. Granted, my wedding will be a little unusual I
ordered twisted flavored marshmelloq ropes. But they have
hundreds of ideas and favors to choose from!
Erin -- Tuesday, July 13 2004, 09:10 pm Kerry and Ester...watch ouf for copywrite infringements on
the CD idea....
Tammy -- Wednesday, July 14 2004, 06:29 am I am getting married in August. I thought about giving my
bridesmaids Tiffany's key chains. For the groomsmen,
monogramed professional baseball bats.
Tammy -- Wednesday, July 14 2004, 06:44 am I am getting married in August. I thought about giving my
bridesmaids Tiffany's key chains. For the groomsmen,
monogramed professional baseball bats.
Jamie -- Thursday, July 15 2004, 08:56 am For my wedding I am giving the bridesmaids... Claddagh rings
(Love, Friendship, Loyalty)..which they know is very special
to me I was wondering what else I could give with it.. I
thought of a jewlery box with the wedding date on it.. but I
was looking for something more creative.. I love the
baseball bat idea for the groomsmen!! My fiance wants to do
football helmets now!:)
Sara -- Sunday, July 18 2004, 03:20 pm i am getting married in november. i don't have a lot of
money to spend on the gifts and wanted something that each
of them could appreciate. since most of the ladies have
been in other weddings and received keychains, frames,
jewelry, etc. i decided to hand sew matching handbags and
place tickets for free drinks at the reception. i realize
that it may not be a "personal" gift such as having their
names engraved on something, but i know that these girls
would appreciate it more than their name on a keychain.
Katie -- Monday, July 19 2004, 07:38 pm Just an idea - our entire wedding party came from other
states...we paid for one night in the hotel and then I gave
the bridesmaids jewelry (not very unique) and my husband
bought a Leatherman for each groomsman (like a Swiss Army
knife but different) and engraved them with a nickname or
few words that triggered memories of an inside joke that
they shared.
Shannon -- Monday, July 26 2004, 06:23 pm To the person who said that Coach is overrated, I disagree.
I think lots of girls (and guys) would love to get something
from Coach. It's definately something that you won't buy
for yourself everyday. Not that I can afford it though. My
fiance got personalized baseball bats too! They're great!
He also got another friend a leather toiletry kit from
Kenneth Cole since his friend travels a lot for work. I got
my bridesmaids Kenneth Cole travel sets too.
Jennifer -- Thursday, August 12 2004, 08:33 pm I am sorry, but a majority of you girls seem like you have
tons of money to spend (Tiffany keychains, coach bags) Lori
is the only one who had an idea that would be manageable for
someone who is paying for their wedding themselves. Anyone
in my boat have any creative, inexpensive ideas?
Tracy -- Saturday, August 14 2004, 01:58 pm For my "girls" I have been shopping for approx. 1 year!
Every sale I see I hit and get great bargins!!!!!!! I not
only hit "brandname" stores but also flower shops for
trinkets. I actually got a picture tree(s) for $2 each, in
one of my wedding colours. If you know of people who work
in the retail industry this is also helpful in the respect
that he/she can tell you when there will be a sale or where
to find all of the great deals.
Nicole -- Tuesday, August 31 2004, 12:30 am I planned a slumber party for my bridesmaid. I got them all
matching pj's odered pizza, rented chick flicks and
exchanged "boy" stories. We had a wonderful time and most
importantly a night we will always remember.
Rob -- Tuesday, August 31 2004, 09:02 pm I am getting married in October, I am getting toilet paper
for the guys and lube for the women.
annie -- Sunday, September 5 2004, 10:09 pm All of my bridesmaids are scrapbookers (or wannabes), so I
just purchased the Creative Memories 7x7 Promise album, the
page protectors and the wedding snap pack. They will each
be able to order pictures off of my photographer's website
and put together a small scrapbook of the day. And, it will
be a great excuse to all reunite a month or so after the
wedding and talk about the wedding and all the memories. The
total was less than $50 per bridesmaid and completely worth
it as they will have the scrapbook forever!
Elizabeth -- Monday, September 13 2004, 04:13 pm Jennifer -
I'm getting my bridemaid all totes (bought at a hobby store
for 2 dollars a piece) and in them, I put stuff for a day to
relax after the wedding for all of their help. I'm thinking
of getting them things like bath salts, candles, lotion, and
other relaxing things. It will probably end up costing
around 30 to 40 dollars.
Shannon -- Wednesday, September 15 2004, 10:11 pm I am getting my bridesmaids silver compact mirrors with
thier names engraved and a makeup bag with pictures of thier
kids on them. The bags are only $20 and they are so cute-
Heather -- Saturday, September 18 2004, 04:47 pm Shannon,
Where did you get the bags? That sounds great!
Melissa -- Sunday, October 3 2004, 06:10 pm We are getting married in Jamaica, February 5, 2005. My
fiancee and I currently live in NC and all of our family &
friends are from MA. Needless to say, we have about 20
guests flying in to Jamaica to celebrate 3 to 7 days with
us. I am having a MOH and 2 BM's.
Since all our guests are spending the money to join us, I
believe that each should receive a gift bag. I am having a
hard time trying to decide on cost effective gifts for my
guests.
I also find myself having a dificult time trying to find
maid of honor/bridesmaid gifts. I was thinking of getting
my girls an monogramed handbags and filling the bags with
goodies, but what?
If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!!!
nikki -- Tuesday, October 12 2004, 12:49 am im from australia and all these ideas sound great, i am only
having 3 bridesmaids and we were thinking of giving each of
our bridesmaids and groomsmen a video or dvd with a special
message of thanks on it. its something that they can keep
forever.
Michelle -- Tuesday, October 12 2004, 06:24 pm My fiance is taking his groomsmen on a golf trip. For my
bridesmaids I went to Old Navy and bought ribbed tank tops
(2 for $6) and Swarovski crystals. I made the word
Bridesmaid on the shirt with the crystals and fabric glue.
You can get 72 crystals for $4.45 and you only need about 70
for each shirt. The shirts already made in the stores were
running $30-$40. I also made them flip flops with the
crystals to match the shirts (those cost $145 in the
stores).
To finish my gifts I got them Coach wristlets because I love
Coach and they are doing so much for me. The wristlets are
only $48 and if you can afford it or don't have that many
bridesmaids why not?

Jody -- Monday, October 25 2004, 05:30 pm I started early for my bridesmaids, but I am putting
together a spa/bath & body basket, I found some great sale
items at several stores I bought bath confetti, loofahs,
pumice & brush bars/ floating candles/ pillar candles,
mosaic compact mirrors, facial scrub, foot scrub, bath
fizzies all in my wedding colors and each item was $2.00 or
less, I am constantly on the lookout & adding more things as
I come across them (I still have 6 months) I'll put
everyting in a galvanized bucket you can get a craft stores
& also a monogrammed bracelt. For the Guys we are getting
Buck knives & havingthem engraved (they are all cowboys
and/or hunters so it is agift they can all use!
Leslie -- Wednesday, October 27 2004, 05:53 pm I am getting married on Sept. I really want to make it
special for my bridesmaids. I have 10 of them. Of course,
I bought them the jewery, but I really want something unique
to go with it. I really got some good ideas but nothing
thats perfect yet. I was thinking about getting them each a
gift certificate for a half hour massage. I figured they
might like that after all the craziness of everything during
the wedding. Tell me what you think. I have no clue for the
groomsmen yet so please keep posting your ideas.
Thanks!
Amanda -- Saturday, November 6 2004, 02:38 pm My fiance and i are paying for our wedding ourselves so we
are definetly on a budget. So i went to Ross and purchased
4 really nice Kenneth Cole large tote bags and i went to our
local embroidery shop and got their intials put on the
front. Each bag was originally $58.00 but since it was at
Ross i only paid $15.00. What a deal-huh? And i even bought
myself one to match. I thought that would be perfect for all
of us to bring full of all our wedding day neccessities.
One last thing that i thought was great, each letter was only
$1.00 to put on -Look into it. If you don't have a place to
do it another great idea is at Michaels(craft store) they
sell rhinestone iron on letters that you can put on
yourself-also very cheap in price. I am also going to fill
them with cool bags with stuff like candles and lotions and
other girly stuff.
Tricia -- Sunday, November 21 2004, 10:21 pm My Maid of Honor has been my best friend since we were born.
She is practically my sister. I am also having my 3 sisters
in the wedding. We have had this little saying going in our
family. "Forever sisters, Forever Friends, Love Always" When
my last sister got married she had that engraved on a
picture frame with a picture of all of us in it. It was
awesome. Anyone got any ideas how i can get that engraved or
sewn on something other than a picture frame? Any
suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks so much!
Jen -- Friday, December 3 2004, 08:59 pm My fiance and I are young, in college, and paying for our
own wedding -- so that means tight budget! For the girls I
got some cheap totes at Michaels that I will iron their
initials onto. The bags are going to be filled with all
sorts of girly stuff like lotions, pj pants and fun socks,
face masks, candles, etc. For the guys, we are doing wallets
with a Starbucks gift card (they're all coffee-aholics) The
key is to start shopping now! Keep your eyes peeled for
sales and clearance!
Daniel Schneiderov -- Tuesday, December 21 2004, 08:51 pm I WOULD LIKE TO MARRY MY VERY CLOSEST FRIEND LEETAL
ILAN FROM RAMAT AVIV ISRAEL.
Angie -- Thursday, December 30 2004, 03:32 pm I'm having a beach wedding...any good ideas for B-maid
gifts, I'm having 10? I've been in several weddings and
most of my b-maids are already married and have been in
several weddings and have received all of the same things
that you would think of... I want something neat and
original and "beachy" any ideas? Thanks!
Katie -- Monday, January 10 2005, 08:35 pm I think all of you have fabulous ideas! I had fun just
reading the replies. I am thinking about getting the totes
from L.L. Bean and having them monogrammed and then filling
them with fun goodies that aren't expensive!
My fiance doesn't have any ideas for his groomsmen, but I
like the pullover jacket idea. That's cool. Also, thought
I'd tell you that for our wedding favors, we decided to do
small paper sacks with tags(not sure what they'll say yet)
filled with our favorite treats/snacks...kind of like a
"goodie bag" for our guests and they learn a little bit
about what we like. I don't know about you...but I have a
box in my closet full of wedding favors that I'll never be
able to put to use:)
Laura -- Thursday, January 13 2005, 12:03 pm Every year, Wedgwood puts out an "annual box," and this year
there are two which are ideal for bridesmaid gifts. One is
a blue jasperware egg with cupid on the front, and the other
is a pink jasperware heart. They are both just under $50
which is a little pricey, but if you have room in your
budget, they make really beautiful keepsakes and definitely
deviate from the traditional key chains and picture frames.
You can find them at cashs.com if you're interested. Best
of luck!
-- Thursday, January 13 2005, 01:39 pm I have 7 bridesmaids all with different personalities, what
do i give them as gifts?
Nikki -- Friday, January 14 2005, 01:05 pm I love all the ideas! I have 11 bridesmaids and i got them
all Tiffany earrings for the wedding. A great gift idea is
Lillion Vernon tote bags. You can give the girls the color
bag that matches their dress color. The bags are $5 each.
I think it is a great idea! Best of Luck!
Tammy -- Tuesday, January 18 2005, 10:39 am Angie--- I am having a cruise wedding and was so stuck on
what to buy the bridesmaids. So I've decided to get them a
straw beach bag and fill it with beach towel, sandals, lip
balm, tank top, bottle water, suncreen and all sorts of
stuff for the beach. And a engraved jewerly box with thier
jewerly for the wedding in them. I'm also thinking of
candles and maybe after sun lotion.
LAURA -- Saturday, January 22 2005, 10:30 am Nothing I think of or read seems to be what I want to do for
my girls in the wedding. I am getting married in may and I
have no idea what to do for each of the 7???? HELP ME
SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!
Shanna -- Sunday, January 23 2005, 07:32 pm I'm having a Hawiian themed wedding on the beach. I'm
giving my bridesmaids bags I got from the Oriental Trading
Company, very inexpensive, filling the bags with things for
the beach. For the wedding favors we wrote a verse thanking
everyone for celebrating our day with us. I bought
unfinished frames from Oriental Trading company. They were
$10.00 for a dozen. We stained them and stuck the verse
inside the frame. Instead of giving everyone a frame, we're
giving one per family. It cost us about $40.00.
stephany -- Tuesday, January 25 2005, 02:01 am laura,
have a manicure pedicure party before the wedding for your
girls. take them all to a salon or do it at home and have a
girls night (facials, pizza, movies, etc.).
Claudia -- Sunday, January 30 2005, 11:47 am I just foung the cutest monogrammed silk tote bags at
filigreemonograms.com, and also really cute small
monogrammed jewelry pouches at vivandingrid.com. I only
have 3 bridesmaids, so I can spend a little more on them,
but the tote bags were $57, and the little jewelry bags
weren't too bad either.
Janelle -- Tuesday, February 15 2005, 12:35 pm Hi, I loved reading your emails on gift ideas for the bridal
party. I am getting married this weekend. Here are some of
my ideas:
www.foreverwed.com $6.85 silver plated mirros
www.filigreemonograms.com-monogrammed tote bags
www.exclusivelyweddings.com-$13.00 silver plated heart
shaped box with candle inside, embroidered cotton
hankerchiefs for mothers, s/s plated beer monogrammed beer
mugs, money clips, pic frames for guys

including chinese take out boob enhancers

Bethany -- Tuesday, February 15 2005, 12:47 pm Mikasa has the cutest crystal candle holders that are like
3-4 dollars each. I am having 7 Bridesmaid and all are
wearing a different color like the rainbow in the wedding.
Each candle holder I am putting the color candle that they
are wearing. I can't think of anything else to go with it.
Any ideas? I need simple...and inexpensive.
Becky -- Thursday, February 17 2005, 02:09 pm I am putting together baskets in my theme colors-- bright
pink and green. Here are my gifts: freshwater pearl triple
strand necklaces. I got the idea from turqbridal.com but
found something just as cute and half the price at TJ Maxx
($30 each). Got all 7 necklaces at only two different store
locatons (I'm from a big city). I went to the garment
district in NYC and bought button freshwater pearls to make
earrings ($2.10 each pair). ALL REAL PEARLS! My mom found
some bright green "faux pashmina" shawls on clearance at the
department store ($10 each). I'm making "J. Crew ish"
grosgrain ribbon belts (each will have their own design in
pink and/or green)-- go to strandodesigns.com for a good
selection. I have little pink canvas totes from a GAP
outlet with green liners and brown leather handles that I am
going to get monogrammed (8.99 each). And I might make
green toile jewelry bags too. Go to outlets, TJ Maxx, Ross,
Marshalls, start hunting early, and I suggest not spending
the money on expensive engraved frames. She will really
only be able to display a picture from your wedding, which
makes it difficult if she would like to use the frame to
display pictures of other people.
Natalie -- Thursday, February 17 2005, 04:38 pm I love the Coach bags idea. Any girl would love to get a
designer purse, especially if it's a gift. Like someone
said, it's not something you would buy everyday. It's
expensive. But everytime you see one at the store, you
always wish you can afford to buy one.. So i think they'll
love this one.. I'm already set on getting purses, just need
to go to the Outlet store to look for sales. My maid of
honor is my sister and my bridesmaids are my bestfriends. I
don't mind spending a little bit more because they deserve
them.
Tiffany -- Monday, February 21 2005, 05:49 pm I am getting married March 11,2005 ! I need ideas for my
bridesmaids and groomsmen. My fiance wants to get the guys
zippo lighters with their names engraved (they are all
smokers) it will be something they will use. Either that or
a money clip, but the ideas are so original. I am having
trouble coming up with ideas for my bridesmaids ! I bought
their jewelry for them to wear in the wedding , but wanted
to get them something more personal. Any ideas for parent
gifts as well!!?
Molly -- Monday, February 21 2005, 07:29 pm I have an Irish themed wedding coming up. I got my
bridesmaids horseshoe necklaces. It is something that they
can wear again and it is said in Irish tradition that
horseshoes will bring the couple good luck.
Paige -- Wednesday, February 23 2005, 11:50 am I am getting married in June, 2005. I love the idea of a
monogrammed tote bag filled with beach stuff since we all
live near the beach. My fiancee has no idea what to get the
groomsmen though. They all love to work on/fix up cars.
Tools that we could engrave possibly? Any thought or ideas?
RYLEIGH -- Wednesday, February 23 2005, 06:39 pm This gift idea is rather big but get them each a set of jack
stands. They run about 20-25 $ a pair. You could engrave
them if you wanted. Also buy ones in you wedding colors (if
its not pink or purple)
ryleigh -- Wednesday, February 23 2005, 06:40 pm The above message is for PAIGE
Janice -- Thursday, February 24 2005, 12:14 pm I'm getting married in June and have four bridesmaids. I've
decided to treat them pick something out for each one
individually. So, I'm just treating it as I would a birthday
or Christmas gift. For my friend who LOVES to cook, I bought
her a cooking class at Sur La Table. For my spa friend, a
mani-pedi. Most of us know our BM's pretty well, so I think
it's easier to buy them what you know they would like vs.
getting them all the same thing. Don't do things the same
way just because it's always been done that way. :) Congrats
to you all.
Paige -- Friday, February 25 2005, 10:51 am Thanks for the idea Ryleigh!
Lisa -- Wednesday, March 2 2005, 05:47 pm I know this sounds expensive, but my FI is getting each of
his groomsmen(6) and each usher (4) a really nice Fossil
watch...it's something they will use a lot!
Stella -- Saturday, March 12 2005, 05:44 pm Thanks for the ideas girls! You all rock!!
Bridget -- Tuesday, March 22 2005, 07:26 pm We are getting married in my best friends backyard-where we
had our first date at a barbeque. She is also my Maid of
Honor - so we are giving her an early gift... flowers &
bulbs of her choice to plant in the garden she started last
year. We are getting married in front of it. I am also
gettting her & my cousin (my only bridesmaid) bath robes &
spa certificates. I plan to also do a small scrapbook for
each of them starting with past moments/memories & ending
with wedding pictures.
We do, however need ideas for the men... I like the swiss
army knife idea...
Congrats to all & Best Wishes.
Julie -- Thursday, March 24 2005, 10:56 pm For my bridesmaids, I bought them each a book about
friendship, and one about being sisters for my matron of
honor. I also bought each of them a large ceramic bowl from
Crate and Barell Outlet. I am putting the book, monogrammed
make-up bags, and confetti bath productsin there. I then
bought each of them something that is more personal. For
example, a yoga mat w/ a patchwork shoulder bag, a jewelry
box that says: Hope, Faith, Love, etc. I'm still shoppping
for 3 of the girls.
For my 2 ushers I bought cardboard popcorn containers. I am
going to fill them with popcorn and put Cubs tickets in
there for this summer.
R -- Monday, March 28 2005, 07:05 pm Bridget-
I like the swiss knife idea too but since you met at a BBQ
and the wed is outdoors it would cute to with a set of
grilling tools, or even grill marinades. I bet that would be
a great hit. Just some ideas.
R -- Monday, March 28 2005, 07:06 pm (message above) As a gift to the men
Michelle -- Thursday, April 7 2005, 12:19 pm Hi All,
Great site with great advice. I was wondering if any of you
had any ideas for favors for a Butterfly themed wedding.
Aside from all the soaps, candies, candle things that
everyone does. I want to be a little different, but just the
same I don't want to have to spend an arm and a leg either.
By the way, I am getting married August 27 this year in PA.
I also need ideas about Bridesmaids gifts. Oi... the stress
of it all. Thanks all!
Audra -- Monday, April 11 2005, 04:40 pm Michelle--what about butterfly wind chimes? You can find
cheap ones all over the place.
Audrey -- Thursday, April 14 2005, 08:08 pm I am getting married in June 2006, but starting early. I
live in GA. and am putting together spa kits for my 8
bridesmaids. I found wire crome baskets, bath salts, body
wash, pumice brush, and lotion at Target in a dollar
section. Everything was a dollar, so I only spent about $50
total for gifts for all of my bridesmaids!! It was a great
deal... and I just bought them so they are still at target
if you want to buy early or are looking for a last minute
idea.
About the Fossil watches for the groomsman....There is a
Fossil Outlet in Commerce GA and several more...Try doing an
internet search for locations of one near you! Watches at a
Fossil Outlet can run about $20 ...which is a great
inexpensive gift for the guys!
Jen -- Saturday, April 23 2005, 10:33 pm What about a butterfly bush/tree in the center of the
table?
jen -- Saturday, April 23 2005, 10:35 pm I am getting married - Oct 1 2005 and I am using bare trees
that are painted white and have white lights in them for my
centerpiece
alex -- Friday, May 6 2005, 08:50 pm I'm getting married this august.... and i am having a little
bit of trouble deciding on bridesmaid gifts... we are on a
budget so i need inexpensive... but i would like to do
something fun any ideas would be appreciated!!! thanks!!
bex -- Friday, May 6 2005, 09:31 pm I know the question about flower girls gifts was months ago,
but i guess lots of people have flower girls. When i was
about 5 i was a flower girl for my uncle, and he bought both
my cousin and me pearl necklaces. They are adult chokers, so
as a child they were quite large, but as I've got older (now
I'm 21) its got tighter and sexier. The little girls grow
up into women!! I really love the necklace, and it's lasted
far longer than the marriage!
bex -- Friday, May 6 2005, 09:38 pm Anybody who is thinking Zippo and comes from the UK should
get to pipeshop.com, they are the cheapest I have found who
ship to britain, and offer free customization if you buy
more than 50 units. I imagine they will do fewer than 50 if
you were to pay... They have all sorts of clever things
they can do with them. No i don't work for them, I just
like to exploit the strong pound to aid my collection!!
baby n honey -- Sunday, May 8 2005, 12:18 am for my girls i'm getting their jewlery and make- up bags
from Kenneth Cole. For my maid of honor and matron I am
getting a little something extra that is more personal. My
maid of honor travels a lot so i'm getting her personalized
stationary and an engraved business card holder. For my
marton of honor I'm getting her a photo album that she has
always had her eye on. For the guys , we are getting
leatherman utility tools that are going to have their
initials engraved, a gift they can use eveyday!
Kimmi -- Monday, May 9 2005, 05:53 am For my wedding I am having one of my best guy friends stand
up with me. As this eliminates the jewlery, smelly bath
stuff etc from the list of possibles I am giving each a
little "fun pack" depending on their personalities! I am
putting everything into wicker baskets I found at Ikea with
ribbons matching my colors weaved in. In each basket I am
putting a bottle of their favorite alcohol or tea (I have a
non-drinker) and the proper glasses with a filler item - I
am giving the guy in the party a bottle of really nice
Tequilla, 2 margarita glasses, kosher salt and a lime. For
the wine drinker a really nice bottle of wine, 2 proper
glasses, and a fancy corkscrew. The tea drinker is getting
a selection of loose leaf teas, 2 tea cups and a small tea
pot.
Sarah -- Friday, May 13 2005, 12:05 pm I am also looking for unique gifts to give my bridemaids. I
thought about art work that reflected each ones personality,
since I am an artist. Then I also found recipes for sugar
scrubs and bubble bath, and thought about including a robe
and a bottle of wine. I have until September to decide.
A favor for this time of year is gourmet nut wrapped in
burlap.
Sara -- Sunday, May 15 2005, 10:19 pm I wanted to share my ideas in hopes that I can help someone
else. I got for the entire wedding party including
ourselves engraved beer mugs. We will all have them at the
head table during the dinner event, which should be lots of
fun... We even bought a small mug for our flowergirl. We
then got something a little more personalized for each
person. A bottle of wine for the wine drinker. A flask
with his favorite whiskey inside for our Whiskey drinker. A
pearl necklace for my sorority sister. A cute T-shirt for
our flower-girl. A candle holder and assorted votives for
the candle lover. Think about their hobbies or things that
they really enjoy, and get them something that relates to
that. If you know it interests them, they are going to love
their gift.
Jamie -- Thursday, May 26 2005, 01:53 pm Hey thanks for all the great ideas, because me and my fiance
are getting married really soon and i need as much ideas as
i can for everyone. We don't want to leave anyone out.:)
Danielle -- Thursday, May 26 2005, 10:05 pm I'm getting married October 8th and we came up with a fun
idea for our guests. We are getting everyone socks. They
will be monogrammed so when you look at your foot it will
read "Thanks for starting us off on the right foot" and our
names and wedding date will be on the sock sleeve. We
thought it was pretty unique!
Christine -- Friday, May 27 2005, 05:01 am I am getting married on 8-13-06. I have not asked any
bridesmaids or the Maid of Honor yet. I was going to give
them a tote bag filled with a journal and a tank with
"bridesmaid", etc written on it. Is it ok to give them
these things when you ask them? Or is the proper ettiqute to
only give a gift closer to the wedding. I still have over a
year to go!
Jessica -- Monday, May 30 2005, 09:53 pm That is a really really good question Christine! I was
wondering that myself. I just got engaged two weeks ago and
it was a total suprise! but anyway we're thinking about
6/07 so it's a bit out but I read each of the suggestions on
this page and I think I'll be good to go when looking for
wedding party gifts.....does anyone know of a good place to
look for gifts for my fiance? or have any unique
suggestions? that is going to be the most important gift I
give that day and I want to do it right! I'm sure you all
know what I mean!!
Jamie -- Wednesday, June 8 2005, 04:42 pm My fiance has a hobby, he is a drummer in a band and would
love to have a new set of drums for himself. With all the
wedding planning he doesn't have the money to do that right
now! I have decided to get him that new set and give it to
him at the wedding. The guys will hopefully help me pull it
off. It is expensive, but he will like that better then an
expensive watch!
Kristen -- Saturday, June 11 2005, 12:10 pm Everyone has great ideas. I'm getting married in September
2006. Is there a proper time to give your bridesmaids their
pesonalized gifts?
Niki B. -- Wednesday, June 15 2005, 02:42 pm I am getting married on September 17th 2005, what should I
get my bridesmaids? I also want to give my maid oh honor
something different!
Share your thoughts please
Niki
ML -- Tuesday, June 21 2005, 07:48 pm I'm getting married next April and I've been looking online
for some gift ideas for my bridesmaids. I just found the
perfect gift. On Bagettes.com, you can order cosmetic bags
that display whatever picture(s) you'd like. You can even
personalize each Custom Photo Bagette them. Each bag costs
about $20 depending on how many extras you add. They're
great because they're personal, completely unique, and
useful. Even if one of your girls doesn't wear makeup, she
can still use it as a carrying case for just about any small
thing. Plus, it showcases your favorite photos.
Congratulations to all you ladies and good luck with your
search for the perfect gifts!
Emily -- Wednesday, June 29 2005, 12:41 am All of these ideas are great! I have three bridesmaids and
I'm giving them each a monogrammed bag. I have a friend who
is making their jewelery and that will go inside the bag.
Each of my girls love coffee so I'm putting a fun travel mug
(different color and style to match the girl's
personalities) and a bag of some flavored coffee. I was also
thinking of some comfortable pjs to go along with. I really
like personalized travel kit for the guys!
Cindy -- Wednesday, June 29 2005, 04:48 pm A good wedding gift for the guests--we ordered small yankee
candels "wedding day" scent and made clear lables to stick
on each candel with the bride and groom's name and wedding
date
Cindy -- Wednesday, June 29 2005, 04:50 pm Kristen, give them at the rehersal dinner
Kellie -- Thursday, June 30 2005, 04:53 pm I bought cute miniature oil candles as wedding favors. They
don't have them displayed on the website www.Luster.ca but
if you send them an email, they will give you all kinds of
details, samples and design suggestions.
Stephanie -- Thursday, July 7 2005, 04:46 pm I was wondering if anyone had any unique ideas on how to ask
your bridal party to be your bridal party??
Sheila -- Friday, July 8 2005, 03:06 pm I booked each of my 4 bridesmaids (and myself) a 4 hours
treatment package at a local day spa. And I got them each
matching velour tracksuits. I got them at Walmart of all
places. The zip up hoddies and matching pants were each
only $16.98 each!! And they are so comfy I got myself a set
too!!I will get them each embroidered for my girls.
Sheila -- Friday, July 8 2005, 03:07 pm Forgot.........you can book facials, pedicures etc., at any
beauty school for a more reasonable rate than a day spa.
Nicole -- Tuesday, July 12 2005, 09:54 pm When we picked a date, we invited the people who we wanted
to be in our wedding over for a dinner party. I had all my
girls there and asked them to be my bridesmaids. They were
so touched,..They know how much they all mean to me. It was
a good night. I also thought about taking them out to dinner
and asking them over dinner,...just the girls, ya know, a
few cocktails...fun!
Jane -- Tuesday, July 19 2005, 03:17 am I am getting married in July 2006
and i am geting my girls pink garter belts and i am wearing
a black one (black and pink theme) then i am getting small
heart charms with thier names on them ans tieing that to the
garter belts. I can;t wait to take a picture of all the
girls lifting their skirts and showing their belts.
Andrea -- Wednesday, July 20 2005, 02:41 pm I thought I'd share my bridesmaid gift idea. I'm throwing a
thank you bridesmaid tea for my girls the day before the
wedding. I'm having it at a small layed back tea room. Each
place setting will have a place card that is a little chair
holding a note that says "thank you." I'm giving them
earrings, a framed photo of the two of us from my shower,
and a makeup bag embroidered with their monogram. I'm going
to put lip gloss, lotion, and hand sanitizer in them. I
think I'm going to get monogramed mirrors for my made of
honor and my matron of honor too. For the guys, they are
going golfing the day before the wedding. We are giving them
monogramed money clips and the two best men domino sets that
have their monogram on the top of the case.

Amanda -- Wednesday, July 20 2005, 07:01 pm I am looking for silk tote bags that I can have monogramed
for my bridesmaids. filigreemonograms.com had really pretty
ones put they were a little too pricy. Does anyone know
where I can find less expensive ones?
Stephanie -- Friday, July 29 2005, 11:55 am As my "material" gift for my bridesmaids i'm going to pay
for them to get their hair and make-up done the morning of
the ceremony, but there real gift (as well as for the
groomsmen) is going to be more sentimental. my fiance and i
are going to put together a sort of hodgepodge of items that
remind us of the special people we have chosen to be part of
our day. we're going to think of stories/memories that make
us think of each individual and we're going to put together
some type of bag for each of them with these memories
enclosed. i'm also thinking of having my videographer
(who's also doing my video montage for my reception) put
together a separate one for my wedding party like a memory
type thing.
Christine Pitt -- Thursday, August 4 2005, 03:08 pm How much is too cheap for bridesmaid gifts, me and my fiance
have a baby on the way so we are pinching pennies..... any
ideas?????
Jaime -- Wednesday, August 10 2005, 09:43 am I hand painted some terracotta pots in theme with the
wedding and put the bridal party names on them too. the pots
themselves were $2 each. I can give to each with some seeds
or a candle.
Cora -- Thursday, August 11 2005, 01:32 pm I'm giving my girls their evening purse fill with their
jewellry, a pack of tissues, tic tacs, mini purfume,
disposable camera, things they'll need that day and pretty
flip flops to match their dresses for later on in the night.
Christine -- Thursday, August 11 2005, 07:13 pm Michelle, I really liked yoru idea about the tanks w/
crystals. I am getting married in 7 weeks, Oct 7,2005 and
have yet to finish what I want to do for my bridesmaids. I
have some spa things to give them, but nothing to put the
stuff in yet and I felt silly jsut giving them a few things,
so I really like that idea about the tanks and the flip
flops! Thanks a bunch!!! I have a tight budget at the moment
and this idea is great!
April -- Thursday, August 18 2005, 04:35 pm All of you looking for canvas totes... you can get VERY
cheap ones at www.myshopangel.com. There are many different
types, styles, and sizes available from $2.00 to $7.00 each!
That way you can spend your money on the gifts to go in
them rather than just the bag. My fiance and I are both in
grad school and are paying for our wedding, so anywhere we
can cut corners is a BIG help.
KRISTEN HARE -- Tuesday, August 23 2005, 03:05 pm I REALLY LIKE THE ROBE IDEAS BECAUSE THE DAY BEFORE THE
WEDDING ALL OF MY BRIDESMAIDS AND MYSELF ARE HAVING A SPA
DAY (THEY CAN WEAR THE ROBES)THEN A SLUMBER PARTY THE NIGHT
BEFORE
Kristy -- Friday, August 26 2005, 11:38 pm I am getting my bridesmaids Egyptian cotton sheet sets
monogrammed with their intials. I think its important to
give them something they can use instead of something they
need for just my wedding. But, I'm also getting them a
necklace and earring set from Claire's to wear for the
wedding that are less expensive.
joey -- Thursday, September 1 2005, 05:22 am hey I'm a guy and probably shouldnt be in here in fact I

and humidors - thought this was a pretty unique gift that
they will all love!

Monica -- Thursday, September 8 2005, 09:55 pm I went to the Coach Outlet and purchased wristlets for about
$25 each; soft slippers that match their dresses for the
reception, on sale $5; a book; and a travel jewlery roll,
$15 each. I spent approximately $50 on each attendant.
My fiance went with humidors for his groomsmen.
Jen -- Friday, September 9 2005, 04:56 pm I got my girls all of their accessories for the day. I know
it is a little overdone, but always appreciated. They put
out the money for the dress. So, I bought them each a nice
small fancy handbag (their dresses are black) and filled it
with a jewellery set to wear that day, a small shawl,
flowers for their hair and little toiletries (mini
deodorant, hand lotion, breath mints and perfume spritzer
bottles to fill with their favourite) Huge hit!
