| Kara Schepers -- Monday, January 13 2003, 05:04 pm I'm trying to find really unique fun games to play at my
sister's bridal shower, got any ideas??
KaraSchepers23@yahoo.com
Angela -- Tuesday, January 21 2003, 09:58 am I like to play the bingo game. Make bingo cards (5 rows and
5 columns with a free space in the center). Have each guest
write in the spaces gifts that they think the bride-to-be
will recieve at the shower. As she opens her gifts, the
guests will mark off the ones they guessed correctly. The
first one to get bingo wins!
Jane Murphy -- Friday, March 28 2003, 07:17 pm I think the hair clip idea is very cute - and your guests
get to take something home with them!
Donna Hales -- Sunday, March 30 2003, 12:28 pm I THINK THESE ARE SOME FUN GAMES AND MOST HELPFUL.
Lindsay Arnett -- Sunday, March 30 2003, 07:26 pm These are awesome game ideas. Thanks for the help!
stephanie krohn -- Monday, April 7 2003, 03:38 pm I really really need some theme and game ideas my my little
sister's wedding shower. Ther will be about 50 people in
attendance at a restaurant (banquet room).
stephanie krohn -- Monday, April 7 2003, 03:43 pm I really really need some theme and game ideas my my little
sister's wedding shower. There will be about 50 people in
attendance at a restaurant (banquet room).
Michelle Wilkins -- Friday, April 11 2003, 02:04 am My bridal shower is just days away, although I'm not hosting
my own shower, I wanted to see some game ideas that I might
suggest to my hostess. I found some really great ideas.
Thanks!!
Linda Saccomanno -- Friday, April 11 2003, 11:40 pm Heres a racey game. Each guest gets a wrapped condom, an
empty baby food jar, a small glass of water and an
alkeseltzer. When the host says "go" each guest must pour
water into their baby food jar and open the alkeseltzer and
drop it into the jar and quickly put the condom onto the
jar. The alkeseltzer will inflate the condom, she who has
the fastest time is the winner! It's a really fun and quick
game to play.
samira naba -- Sunday, April 20 2003, 01:28 pm here's a fun game, have every guest write one thing about
themselves, unique, funny or something they love about their
life, they don;t write their names on the sheets of paper
but fold it and put it into a bowl/bag etc. then go around
the room and have each person pick a slip of paper and read
it out loud, then the group trys to guess who wrote it. If
they pick their own slip of paper they still read it and
pretend its not them until everyone has guessed. who ever
guesses the most correctly wins. another version is you
have the group run around and try to match the slip of paper
with the person who said it. Great way to get to know each
other! Lastly you can have everyone go around and tell each
other 3 things they love about their life, it can be
different each time or something they heard someone else say
or the same thing each time. They don't stop until they've
said something to each person there. Have fun!
Misty Stevens -- Tuesday, April 22 2003, 09:45 pm When my best friend got married, I wrote a story about her
and her soon to be husband. It started from when they first
started dating all the way up to the week before the shower.
The story had words such as all, mr. clean, s o s, tide,
basket(case), etc. and the end of the story she had a
basket (or 2) of cleaning supplies. It was really fun and
interesting. She loved it!!
Stephanie -- Thursday, April 24 2003, 02:59 pm I think something that you might want to try is going to
google.com or ask.com and type in Bridal Shower Games. It's
really helpful, because one sight in particular is
ultimatewedding.com and it had quite a few games. If you
have any more question e-mail me at littledream24@hotmail.com!! I can help as
much as possible.
Jenna -- Sunday, June 1 2003, 01:49 am My sister is one of the girls who stares too hard in the
mirror pin-pointing ever little thing wrong with her, so I
am gonna have ever guest take a piece of paper and write a
good memory, or a compliment to her on it, so on her wedding
day she can read them and laugh, it will keep her mind off
being so nervous.
Amy -- Monday, June 9 2003, 04:38 pm I love the BINGO game- good thought! I will use that next
week at my best friend's shower. Another one that is so much
fun is to videotape the groom answering questions about
himself and the bride. Then...at the shower.....ask the
bride the same questions. She will answer them..and then
you show everyone what the groom said..it's very funny!
Questions can be things like "who wears the pants in the
relationship?" and "what is your favorite thing about the
other person"? It's a great game!
Naomi -- Tuesday, July 1 2003, 04:53 pm Great game ideas!
Naomi -- Tuesday, July 1 2003, 04:53 pm Great game ideas!
Carole 7/2/03 -- Wednesday, July 2 2003, 03:05 pm Thank you for this site. I am certain that we will be
using several of your games at my daughter's bridal shower.
The alkeseltzer/condom game sounds like a hoot!
brittanibow7@hotmail.com -- Tuesday, July 8 2003, 11:58 pm My best friend is having a bridal shower and i want to make
it as memorable as possible. If you have any suggestions
e-mail me please.
Thanks,
Brittani
Latania -- Thursday, July 10 2003, 02:58 am I really like the notch name tag idea, because you know the
first thing people want to ask you is when is the "wedding"
Sue -- Thursday, July 10 2003, 01:23 pm I love these games but would really like to see more of a
variety.
Sharon -- Friday, August 1 2003, 03:13 pm These are very great ideas to use, I plan on using quite a
few. thanks for the site!!!!!
Kimborah -- Saturday, August 2 2003, 11:29 am I played a game at my bridal shower where the hostess passed
out white cotton panties that were my size to all of the
guests. Then she passed out permanent markers and all in
attendance created panties for me to take on my honeymoon.
The hostess had my mother be the judge! It was a riot! We
had some that were cute and some that were pretty
naughty...just the same, the game was HILARIOUS!
Amy -- Thursday, August 7 2003, 01:04 am I love the idea of the game where you blindfold the bride
and have her dress herself. It sounds most unique and can
really leave alot to the imagination as to what the "bride"
would look like after that "wedding night"!
Tawanna -- Friday, September 5 2003, 02:55 pm I love the idea about making the bride get blindfolded and
get dressed, these are some wonderful ideas!
Lizzy Fay -- Friday, September 12 2003, 11:35 pm WOW!!! I think its wonderfull that women share their fun
ideas. And thanks for them too. Now I have some thing to
entertain my guest with. THANK YOU! Keep those ideas
comming.
Muggums -- Wednesday, September 24 2003, 05:24 pm Good for a shower or staggette.
Ask the bride-to-be trivia questions. Make them a little
difficult, make her sweat a little. Everytime she gets a
question wrong she has to eat a piece of Bubbalicious bubble
gum (or shot of liqour if you want to get rowdy). She how
well she knows her mate, keep a tooth brush on hand for all
the gum she will be chewing! I got 7 out of 20 wrong...that
is a lot of bubble gum in your mouth!
Sophia R -- Monday, October 20 2003, 12:56 pm One fun game we played with the bride-to-be was giving each
girl a paper plate and an assortment of colored Play-doh.
Each girl had to create a "likeness" of the bride out of the
Play-doh. The bride had to create a Play-doh model of her
fiancee! This was really fun, since some of the girls were
real artists! Everybody loved it, and the bride got a kick
out of seeing what we came up with.
Jodi -- Thursday, November 20 2003, 09:41 am I love the bingo idea! My sister is extremely shy and hates
to be the center of attention. We had to really talk her
into just having a shower. This will help take some of the
attention off her during the gift opening. People will be
more concerned about winning the bingo prize. I would
appreciate more games that keep the bride's shyness in mind.
She gets embarrased so easily and I don't want to make her
cry. This should be a happy time.
Sara -- Tuesday, November 25 2003, 05:30 pm Great ideas! Please pray for the disturbed creature above
who abuses the privilege of the internet and of being a part
of God's beautiful world!!!!!!!
erica -- Wednesday, November 26 2003, 01:12 pm funny game! Blindfold the bride. Have all the groomsmen
and goom lift up one leg of thier pants. Have the bride
attempt to guess her future husbands leg. Funny to
watch!!!!!
Jamie Cale -- Tuesday, December 2 2003, 12:37 am this was a wonderful site it gave me a lot of really great
ideas for my engagement party
NELLY -- Wednesday, December 3 2003, 11:35 am TAKE A CARROT AND HAVE A GROUP OF GUESTS PASS IT ON BETWEEN
THEIR LEGS (NO HANDS) EVERYTIME IT FALLS CUT OFF AN IN THE
LAST PERSON STANDING WITH THE SMALL PIECE OF CARROT WINS.
Joanna -- Tuesday, January 13 2004, 02:27 am "Pin the lips on the Fiance"
At my shower they had a poster sized picture of my fiance
and each guest was blindfolded and handed a set of lips to
tape/pin to his face (after being turned 3 times) The
closest to the lips wins a prize. It was pretty funny and I
still have the poster
megan -- Thursday, January 29 2004, 05:09 pm i actually need some game ideas for an engagement party, but
i did get some ideas from this. If anyoine has any
suggestions please write me at njsweetkiss@aol.com. Thanks
Amber -- Friday, January 30 2004, 12:45 am This is great - we played it my couples shower - you give
the guy a toilet plunger and have him hold it between his
legs. Then the woman holds a roll of TP between her's.
Then you blindfold them both and they have to get the roll
on the plunger. This is hilarious - everyone will die
laughing. Couple with the fastest time wins.
Jessica -- Friday, February 6 2004, 01:08 pm I have a good one. The marshmellow game. Make a list of
actors/actresses and each guest has to put a marshmellow(the
big sized ones) in their mouth and read the name out loud.
The bride has to guess what she is saying, if she guesses
correct then the guest puts another one in her mouth and
reads the next name on list list. This goes on until the
bride cannot understand and the next guest continues on with
the list. The object is to try to fit as many in your mouth
and still have the bride be able to understand you. Whoever
fits the most in thier mouth at the end whens. It's actually
hilarious to listen to everyone with their mouth stretched
wide open and full of white ooz.

Cheryl -- Sunday, February 8 2004, 10:55 am Here's a time saver for the bride - and a great raffle game
for guests. As guests enter, hand them a preprinted
decorative index card. On this card, they're asked to write
their name, gift given, and a wedding wish for the bride
(and groom). They all go in a basket. Throughout the
shower, cards are chosen and prizes are awarded to the guest
whose card was drawn. Small bouquets of flowers are nice
gift ideas - or even bath salts, lotions, etc. At the end
of the shower, the bridesmaids slip all of the cards into a
mini decorated/personalized photoalbum so that its easier to
write out Thank you cards and remember the special day at
the same time.
Joni Hernandez -- Wednesday, February 11 2004, 03:51 am Great ideas! Thank you!
Jo -- Wednesday, February 11 2004, 12:52 pm Here's a good one. Write a word vertically on a piece of
paper, for example "honeymoon". Using each letter, each
guest has to to come up with interesting things for the
couple to do on their honeymoon (ex: M-make out till noon).
Someone reads all the answers aloud and the bride picks the
one she likes the best. My sister isn't the game type and
she liked this one.
Heather D. Vineland, NJ -- Tuesday, February 17 2004, 12:51 pm A Game for the Wedding Reception.
"Bride or Groom".
During the wedding reception sit the bride and groom back
to back. Have each of them take off their shoes. Make sure
that the bride has one of the grooms shoes and one of hers.
(Same for the groom). The best man or maid of honor (or
both) will start to ask them questions about each other. If
they believe it sounds like the bride, they must hold up the
brides shoe. Ask questions like "Who gave who the first
kiss?", "Who made the first move?", "Which one of you sleep
on the right side of the bed?". There would be a few times
their answers wouldn't match and it's hilarous. I have other
game ideas but you'd have to contact me directly. Calistavepiras@aol.com.
Cristina -- Wednesday, February 18 2004, 02:20 pm My sister is getting married this year and i'm planning a
wedding shower for her. I'm trying to come up with a rhyme
game to win the center piece. If anyone can help please
e-mail me at cristina.d'onofrio@baker.edu
Thank you
Heather Lambeth -- Saturday, February 21 2004, 05:28 pm I found some relly good ideas. Thank You!
CATHY -- Thursday, February 26 2004, 02:51 pm I was asked to put together some shower games because I did
it once in the past. I needed some fresh ideas for games
and this site really helped me out. Thank you
P.YEARNS -- Thursday, February 26 2004, 06:39 pm I like the game about the guests filling out the cards with
their name, gift, wedding wish. Another twist to the game
that I'm going to play, is that I'll wait until the bride to
be gets ready to open her gifts, I'll draw a card and that
will be the first gift the bride opens and that guest will
get a prize. I also plan to use a decorative basket and at
the end I'll draw another name and the winner will win the
basket.
-- Monday, March 1 2004, 11:40 am Doesn't sound fun at all!
michiel -- Tuesday, March 2 2004, 02:13 pm I played a game where you put several household items in a
brown paper sack. Items such as pens, ruler, ball, dice,
anything around the house and everyone gets 30 seconds to
look inside the sack and memorize the contents. After
everyone has looked they get three minutes to write
everything they remembered on a sheet of paper. The one with
the most wins a prize. If there is a tie you'll have to come
up with your on way to break the tie.
-- Thursday, March 4 2004, 01:35 am I went to a staggette where every guest was asked to bring a
fun martini glass. We all drank martinis out of them, then
the bride-to-be was asked to pick her favorite one. The
person that brought that glass won a prize. At the end of
the evening we all left the martini glasses for the
bride-to-be to take home with her.
MARIA -- Monday, March 8 2004, 07:16 pm I need ideas for games at my engagement party please help
me, thankyou. mrnjk@msn.com
Chris -- Monday, March 8 2004, 10:13 pm Thank you for the great ideas! Here's an idea for you. Cut
out 50th anniversary pictures and their wedding pictures
from the newspaper, then copy them, older pictures on one
paper and the younger pictures on another. Make several
copies and have guests match the younger to the older
couples. The one that matches the most correctly wins. Set
a time limit.

Abby in MO -- Tuesday, March 9 2004, 02:47 pm Thank you! I found some great ideas. We are using the
memory game but with condoms, lube, eatable undies, etc.
Bethany from Raleigh, NC -- Tuesday, March 9 2004, 03:31 pm Here are some other twists to some games that have already
been mentioned. For the game where the bride goes out of
the room and everybody tries to remember what she's wearing,
tell everybody to look at the bride to see what she's
wearing, but the twist is to have her mother or somebody
else go out instead. This is good because nobody will see
that coming! :) Also, instead of hair pins for another
game mentioned, use clothes pins and have it so that if
anybody crosses their legs, ankles, or whatever, somebody
else can call them out on it and take their clothes pin. At
the end of the party, whoever has the most clothes pins
wins!
Corey/ Maria's maid of honor!!! -- Sunday, March 14 2004, 02:34 am These game ideas are great. Please feel free to email me
with ideas for a hawaiian theme engagement part for my best
friend. She deserves a memerable engagement party & I want
to be able to give it to her!! Thanks for any ideas.. coreysanchez4@msn.com
Robin/Muskegon,MI -- Monday, March 15 2004, 07:11 pm Great ideas ladies..I needed some more ideas, what a great
help..Thanks
sara cervantes -- Wednesday, March 17 2004, 05:57 pm well i'm to be married this summer in july the 17th and my
friends and family are have a wedding shower for and they
asked if there was any games i had in mind but really i
don't so if u could please help me out my e-mail is sara_sanchez84@yahoo.com thanks alot
Diann -- Monday, March 22 2004, 02:43 am As the bride opens her gifts someone takes the bows and
threads the ribbon through a hole cut into a paper plate.
The bride then carries this bouquet down the aisle at her
rehearsal. If there is more than one plate full then the
bridesmaids can carry the additional plates. Another fun
thing to do is have someone sit next to the bride as she
opens her gifts. They should write down things the bride
says as she opens each gift, "oh, this is beautiful" "wow
how gorgeous" etc. At the end read the list as the things
the bride will say on her wedding night.
Jennifer -- Tuesday, March 23 2004, 07:47 pm You all have some great ideas for games ,but I need more.
Laura -- Sunday, March 28 2004, 06:47 pm Thanks! These ideas are great... I am throwing the shower
next weekend, and I will let you know how it goes!
Sue Z -- Friday, April 2 2004, 07:33 pm I need some game ideas. We are doing a "beach theme" at our
local Bahama Breeze restaurant. Any good ideas keeping our
theme in mind?
naz -- Monday, April 5 2004, 02:23 am these were all good ideas...but i wanted some raunchy bridal
shower games...it's my (first)close friends wedding and i am
not the conventional type...so i have to come up with some
wild ideas...but nice try on the ones u have..
Dulce -- Monday, April 5 2004, 11:52 pm naz, you will need a box of condoms, blindfold, firm bananas
and a timer. Blindfold each girl and time her. She will have
to peel the banana and place a condom on it. She who is most
skilled wins!!
NORMA -- Thursday, April 8 2004, 11:34 pm COOL games very helpful thanks!
Jaimie -- Saturday, April 10 2004, 08:49 pm Another idea for the shower is to take all the tissue and
ribbons from the gifts and make in to a bouquet. if you roll
the tissue into flowers with stems then after a bunch take
another piece of tissue and roll it around the stems and tie
it with the ribbon, it looks nice and is even kind fo
pretty.
or if you want you can also make a tissue and ribbon bra
for her to wear at the shower!
Jill -- Monday, April 19 2004, 09:30 pm I am the maid of honor in my sister's wedding. I need some
more ideas for the wedding shower. Also, if anyone knows a
good website to give me some tips on the toast at the
reception, I would like to know. Thanks for all the ideas
so far. You can email me at j_stik@email.com
Michelle -- Friday, April 23 2004, 12:47 pm I played a fun game at a wedding shower once....you
blindforld each player and they sit on the floor, in front
of them the hostess spreads out a bag full 0f cotton balls,
then the player uses a large cooking spoon to pick up as
many cotton balls as she can during a timed period. It is
funny to watch spoon after empty spoon....the player with
the most cotton balls at the end of one minute wins a prize!
CHERRY -- Wednesday, April 28 2004, 01:55 am I HAVE FOUND A LOT OF FREE GAMES ON THE WEB. IT NOT WORTH
BUYING THE OTHER ONE'S IF YOU HAVE A SOME TIME. I COPY THE
INFO I WANTED AND THEN PASTE THEM TO MICROSOFT WORKS. AND
MADE MY OWN SHEETS. IF YOU GO TO YAHOO AND PUT IN BRIDAL
SHOWER GAMES, OVER 200
LINKS COME UP. AND THAT IS ENOUGH TO FILL UP A WHOLE DAY OF
FUN. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR SOME OF THE BEST IDEAS THEN
E-MAIL ME AT: CHERRYLOVESAVING@YAHOO.COM
Hazel -- Wednesday, April 28 2004, 01:33 pm I'm in charge of games at a wedding shower for a young 3rd
year high school teacher. I've made a 20 question multiple
choice test. The questions and answers are designed to
inform everyone about the groom. He is new to us. Also the
questions are trivia about the bride and the groom and the
wedding. At the end are three essay questions:
housekeeping/laundry/cooking advice, maritial advice, how I
feel about bride/groom. It'll be cute, I think. I had a lot
of help from the brides mother.
Keels -- Thursday, April 29 2004, 06:22 pm I just got married last August, and my sister had a girls
shower for me. On the invitations she told everyone to bring
a new pair of underwear and when the guests arrived she hung
each pair on a clothes line.Later in the shower she told me
to take the underwear off the clothesline and hand them out
to who I thought brought each pair. If I got it right I got
to keep that pair of underwear, if I got it wrong they would
give it back to me, and I would have to re-pass it out. It
was really fun to see who brought what underwear, and to get
tons of new pairs of underwear. It's also fun to see all the
different kinds of underwear people pick out from Granny
Panties to something very sexy or barely there. It was very
fun. My sis did a good job!!
-- Thursday, April 29 2004, 07:27 pm Hello.... this are basic games that could be played anywere
with a little change... they fun, simple but most of them (
with the toilet paper exaption) have much to do with a
wedding. Guessed may forget why they came! Anyways just a
thought and one womens opinion. ;)
Valerie -- Friday, April 30 2004, 01:10 am Some new game ideas I've come across recently:
Some Purse games: You call out (or have a typed sheet for
everyone) different items and whoever has that item in their
purse earns a point, whoever earns the most points
wins..sometimes its fun to surprise them and let the one
with the least points win)
Another is to have an accurate scale and have everyone weigh
their purses: the heaviest/lightest wins...
Shan -- Monday, May 3 2004, 09:20 pm I have had fun at showers where I design a "mad-lib" and ask
guests to fill in the blanks. For wedding showers- the
theme is "advice for the newlyweds" so some of the answers
are hilarious.
mrspomm -- Tuesday, May 4 2004, 06:02 pm Shan do you have a copy of the mad-lib that you did? I
think it is a great idea, just pressed for time.
Susan -- Thursday, May 6 2004, 02:47 pm There are lots of great ideas here! Keep up the good work!
Last year when my girl friend got married, we had a
impromptu "shower" on our patio. The 5 girls were each
given a cucumber and a paring knife and told to carve a part
of the male anatomy!
What a hoot! And actually the bride turned out to be the
only artistic one! Hers was actually recognizable!
mickey -- Thursday, May 6 2004, 10:33 pm Neat! I'm looking for a bridal shower opener that I have
seen before about a fill in the blank. It is great ice
breaker and funny! It uses fruit and veggie words to tell a
story. . . . like if you carrot all you . . . . we cantalope
. . . peas listen it's bean a hard day, the rings will
turnip!! Can you help me or direct me? Thanks/
Amy -- Saturday, May 8 2004, 01:37 am I found some really great ideas for my best friends bridal
shower. One game that I didn't see here and I though is
funny is, everyone gets a cucumber or banana and a condom
the hostess says go and the person who can get it on the
fastest wins. Thanks for sharing your ideas!!
Jess -- Thursday, May 13 2004, 09:49 am I did this at a baby shower, but I am planning on using at a
bridal shower as well. We passed out index cards to all of
the guests and had them all write some advice for the future
parents, or for the future married couple. They wrote their
advice, and signed their names. They passesd their thoughts
to me, and I then read them all to everyone. The guests then
had to guess who wrote the thought. When the shower was over
I made a small scrapbook with all of the thoughts for the
parents/bride and groom. You could just slide the thoughts
into a photo album if you are looking for a nice book, but
without all of the work.

sheila -- Thursday, May 13 2004, 08:43 pm lots of great ideas
Krista Tolly -- Friday, May 14 2004, 03:59 pm I have a good one I'm a Tupperware consultant you can go on
my website to my.tupperware.com/kristatolly anytime lots of
differnt ideas for every occasion but I do bridal showers
all the time and one I use is have everyone write down in
one minute what the bride and groom will be doing after
married that ends in ING whoever has the most creative words
wins a prize its pretty funny, another one is have everyone
bend over and draw thier hand and what ever they say you
write down and make up a story with those words.
jeanne -- Saturday, May 15 2004, 01:02 am I made up this game, and it worked like a charm. As guests
arrive, give them a slip of paper already prepared numbered
1, 2..etc for how many guests you have. They have to write
down what their wedding song was, if not married, then just
what their boyfriend/girlfriend song is, if not attached,
then what their favourite love song is. when all the guest
have arrived you sit around and the host of the game reads
out the song...each guest has a sheet of paper numbered 1-
however many guests you have, and they have to match the
song to the person. It's alot of fun to see what people's
choices are, and why they like the song, it brings back alot
of fond memories for the guests!!

another. i'm going to try some of these out at my sister's
bridal shower this weekend !
Norma B. Kalacas, California -- Thursday, May 20 2004, 02:52 pm My eldest daughter and her fiance are planning to get
married next year. I have some friends who are getting
married this year and I am always assigned for the bridal
shower games. I might ran out of bridal shower games if not
for this website. Nice choices and superb ideas!
Jessica -- Friday, May 21 2004, 10:10 am This is a very unique game! Buy a bridal magazine and a
People magazine. Cut out faces only, no hair, of movie
stars and paste them on cut out brides where the face goes.
Glue the pictures to construction paper and number them.
Pass them around and have everyone write down which movie
star they recognize. You can use men and woman. Guests love
this game and it is pretty funny to see the pictures. It is
harder than it seems.
Kitt -- Friday, May 21 2004, 12:37 pm Greaqt unique ideas for me. Thank you
Cheryl -- Monday, May 24 2004, 01:49 pm I'm planning on having a "honey-do" shower for my furture

that will get alot of laughs. I would like to have games
that include home repair or maintenance as a theme. THANKS!

Kateca....Sunday, May 30th, 2004 -- Sunday, May 30 2004, 08:13 am The most hilarios game is the one to blindfold the bride and
let her get dress up with some ridiculous clothing,
especially since my friend is always so well groomed.
ERIN MITCHELL -- Tuesday, June 1 2004, 07:55 pm THIS ONE IS HILARIOUS!!!
HAVE SOMEONE WRITE DOWN WHAT THE BRIDE SAYS WHEN SHE OPENS
HER GIFTS (OOH, IT'S SO BIG, WOW, HOW DO I USE IT, ETC.) AND
THEN RE-READ THE COMMENTS AND TELL HER THAT SHE WILL SAY THE
SAME THING ON HER HONEYMOON NIGHT.
YOU'RE SURE TO LAUGH!!! ENJOY!!!
angel -- Thursday, June 10 2004, 11:36 am i came here to look for some games for my sisters bridal

at my sister in laws shower! i am way excited to do the
toilet paper one where ya make the dress!! awsome thanks
alot
Debbie from Texas -- Wednesday, June 16 2004, 12:14 am I am about to give a wedding shower and one thing that I
will do is mail a recipe card with the invitation and ask
that the guest fill it in with their favorite recipe and
bring the card to the shower for the bride . You could
either collect the cards and place them in a recipe box or
insert them into a 4X6 photo album. I will take a picture
of my bride with each person who brings a recipe card and
insert it in the photo album along side the recipe card
brought.
Diana from New Jersey -- Sunday, June 20 2004, 11:14 pm I need a fun activity to keep my quests busy during my
Engagement party.
Michele from Michigan -- Monday, June 21 2004, 03:46 pm For a traditional bridal shower the recipe card idea is a
great! I went to shower where they used the cards in a
drawing for a gift also. Make sure you write that the
recipes are going into a drawing when you mail out the
invites, so people will actually do it! :~)
myra from california -- Tuesday, June 22 2004, 01:11 am I am doing a shower this week and I came across a cute game
where you play how much does it cost to have a man around
and include things like a truck, playstation 2, big screen
ect. It sounds cute and may be helpful to the bride.
Tanya Demers -- Wednesday, June 23 2004, 06:15 pm Hi I am from Canada, I am making a wedding shower for my
sister this weekend. I apreachiat finding these games.
Rose Bartell -- Wednesday, June 23 2004, 08:14 pm My grand-daughter is getting married July 10th. I really
apprreciate all the cool ideas. Thanks To Ya'll.
Heather -- Wednesday, June 23 2004, 09:33 pm At my brothers' wedding shower, we recorded snips of love
songs and everyone had to guess the title and artist of the
song and whoever got the most right won! It went really well
and then we played the full cd of all the songs while the
rest of the shower went on.
Amy -- Thursday, June 24 2004, 12:14 pm Too bad there isn't a web site for the person who is
extremely stressed out over throwing this party....not just
over the games, but over everything! Good game ideas though
Amy -- Thursday, June 24 2004, 12:17 pm The other ideas that I had were to have guests fill out an
address book and an envelope when they arrive at the party.
That way the Bride has their address in a permanent place
and she doesn't have to waste any time filling out names and
addresses for the thank you notes. You can also pull an
envelope that has been filled out for the winner of a door
prize.
Ashley -- Thursday, June 24 2004, 01:07 pm We're having an engagement party with a tropical theme - any
ideas for games? Please e-mail me if you have some: cbgirl@hotmail.com
Tiffany -- Thursday, June 24 2004, 07:22 pm These games are really cute and fun, I took some for my
sister's bridal shower that's coming up in July, but do you
think you can help me out with something? You see, there is
going to be a big flat screen in the room where we're having
the bridal shower and a dvd player to play dvd's on and we
wanted to use the screen, but I can't seem to find any dvd's
of bridal shower games or how we can go about using the
screen in a creative way to play some games? Any ideas
Please e-mail ASAP at TiffanyBSBLover@hotmail.com Thanx!
sam -- Thursday, June 24 2004, 10:01 pm it's so nice to go to a website that has women sharing with
each other and supporting each other. Thanks for all of your
ideas and Amy, I am completely stressed too, but just keep
repeating to yourself that one day it will be the day AFTER
the shower!
Becky -- Monday, June 28 2004, 10:24 am In response to Tiffany, if you choose to do the "newlywed
game" where you ask the groom questions before hand and then
get the bride to answer at the shower, you could vido tape
the groom's answers and play his response on the big screen
after the bride answers. Same for the memory picture game,
instead of passing around pictures make a movie with
pictures over the years with music in the background. The
movie serves as a gift for the bride while the guests guess
what year the pictures were taken.
Jenny -- Monday, June 28 2004, 11:11 pm A fun game is to get bags of "white stuff" Flour, sugar,
equal, baking soda, etc. Without tasting or touching, only
looking through the bags, you have to figure out what each
one is
Toni -- Monday, June 28 2004, 11:30 pm I have a game, its called "Make a wedding cake".
Each table will get a paper bag with the following: 6
marshmellows (big ones) and 7 coloured marshmellows (tiny
ones), 4 tooth picks, a small paperplate, a piece of ribbon
and 3 different coloured glitter glue sticks. All the guest
at each table will make a wedding cake ONLY with the
contents in the paper bag. Make sure they write the table #
underneath the paperplate. Give them about 5 mintues. When
the 5 mintues are up the bride to be chooses her favorite.
Each guest of the winning table gets a small gift.
Toni -- Monday, June 28 2004, 11:44 pm My sister decided to have a monetary bridal shower. Well I
was told by my mom "NO MALE STRIPPERS!!" I was disappointed
but I agreed. I had to come up with something sexy!! I
went to a store called "Aren't We Naughty" and picked up all
sorts of neat sexy, and naughty things. Since this shower
was monetary only, I did a box in a box in a box...each box
my sister opened had something in it. I had things like
ediable undies, glow in the dark condems, crotchless undies,
a choclate penis on a stick....and so on....but also things
like a spatula, a small frying pan, bag of pasta, can of
tuna...and so on. This was the only "GIFT" she got and the
box was huge. The guests were sitting at the edge of their
seats waiting to see what came next. It was fun!! BTW the
funniest thing was that the huge box was wrapped in gift
wrap paper that listed 10 reasons why a cucumber is better
than a man..AND...she had to read it out loud and translate
it in ITALIAN!!! After 13 years we are still laughing about
it!!
kathy -- Wednesday, June 30 2004, 01:02 pm That's what I'm talking about, Toni. If you don't want to
go through the trouble of looking around for that kind of
racy stuff (or the embarrassment) you can find "slumber
parties" or other "saucy ladies parties" online also- they
will come to you- this way everyone gets to go home with a
parting gift :-) Yes, it is a little more expensive, but,
the quality girl time together is completely worth it. If
you can't find anything online, just email me- I think I
still have a contact.
Also, for the "Beach" and "Tropical" theme weddings, you
could always alternate males and females in a line, give
everyone a toothpick, then pass a lifesaver down the line...
or a pinapple ring... Then, you could do couple hula
hooping contests- that would be interesting- or stay in the
same line (male and female alternating) and pass a coconut
with your neck (this should be done in 2 different lines, so
there can be competition). You might be able to throw a
twist into the old limbo game by tying couples together.
And, my favorite- this is for the Bridal Shower- Instead of
pinning the "lips" on the groom, you could pin other body
parts instead... I'm not talking about his ears...
Good luck- I know some of it's generic, but it might help!

Tracy -- Monday, July 5 2004, 11:39 am I need some fun game ideas to entertaine my guests at my
wedding ceremony. If you have any, please e-mail me at mrs.vern_@hotmail.com
Tracy -- Tuesday, July 6 2004, 01:19 am Any ideas on games for a shower I'm throwing for my baby
sister where the bride's side is very casual and open, and
the groom's are old school greek desent? We're doing bingo
and I love alot of the ideas above, but I don't think the
groom's family would go for them (about 75% of the guest are
from his side). Any suggestions, please e-mail me at tpiach@yahoo.com
Joy -- Tuesday, July 6 2004, 06:54 pm Great ideas, Thanks ladies. I think the ING game is going
to be fun, trying to see how many different words you can
come up with ending with "ing" after the wedding.
DeeDee -- Wednesday, July 7 2004, 06:57 am What a wonderful site! I am hosting a bridal shower in four
days and I was stressed about what games to play. I will
use a few of these ideas and try to invent one of my own. I
will make sure to post it!
leslie from Canada -- Friday, July 9 2004, 02:36 am Best site yet! Am old hat at throwing showers both wedding
and baby, but was feeling stale. After reading all the
suggestions and comments am rejuvenated. Thanks to everyone!
Lisa -- Friday, July 9 2004, 02:36 am My favorite to do at a bridal shower is to come up with a
list of questions specific to the couple (i.e where was your
first kiss? first date? biggest pet peeve? favorite movie?
favorite feature about the other? favorite food, etc). A few
days prior to the shower (try to get as close to the actual
shower as you can) meet with the groom and interview him
using the questions. Then, at the shower have all the
guests write down their guess as to how many answers the
bride will match with the groom. Then, ask the bride the
same questions you asked the groom. You can also actually
video tape your interview with the groom and show it "live"
at the shower as the bride answers the questions. Or you
can first ask the bride the questions in front of everyone
and then arrange to call the groom when you're ready to do
the game and put him on speaker phone and have him answer
the questions live! Whichever guest gets closest to
guessing the number of answers she thought the groom/bride
would match, wins a prize.
Vandana -- Friday, July 9 2004, 01:49 pm I am throwing a bridal shower for my daughter in two weeks.
I am open to suggestion for some conservative but fun games
that will make the guest laugh and remember the shower.
Thanks.
Michelle -- Friday, July 9 2004, 10:52 pm Vandana,
Everything you need is listed above. I got all of my
ideas for a bridal shower that I am throwing tomorrow for a
very conservative future sister-in-law from the kind ladies
above!
Linda -- Saturday, July 10 2004, 12:05 am the game that was discussed about the ,,writing down the
cute little things the bride says while opening her
gifts...isnt there a story you can read about the wedding
night or something that goes with this..and those sayings
she said fill in the blanks???I know I saw this somewhere a
couple of years ago and now I cant seem to remember where.
Roxie -- Saturday, July 10 2004, 02:28 am Some really great ideas, thanks to everyone who posted.
Michelle -- Saturday, July 10 2004, 06:16 pm Had to chime in again and highly endorse the marshmallow
bridal cake idea that Toni suggested from "Monday, June 28."
I just returned home from the shower I threw, and this game
is the BEST! Most of the guests had also been to a toilet
paper bridal dress shower, and all mentioned that they much
prefer this game. The little bridal cakes all looked so
cute, and everyone had a lot of fun!
Patricia -- Sunday, July 11 2004, 03:19 pm Co-workers and I are having a shower...my theme is garden
and all the favors are flowery items, windsox, pictures,
vases, etc...even a fake snake that might be found in a
garden! My house will be full of flowers and
plants...everything is on clearance now..and gardens are
full of fresh flowers.I am making simple hair clips, hot
glueing a large flower or vegetable to it for each to wear
as they arrive. If anyone touches their hair, you get their
hair clip and the one with the most at the end wins a plant
or bouquet.
karen -- Tuesday, July 13 2004, 05:17 pm I found some great ideas and information in reference to
what type and styles of games to be played at my wedding
shower. I to this date does not know when it is planned
for, but I do know that my wedding date is Sep. 25th 2004.
I'm just waiting on the maid of honor to set the date.
Believe me we will be using some of these games
cindy--Wed, July 14th -- Wednesday, July 14 2004, 05:40 pm Help, throwing an Engagement Party for a large group, both
sides of the families, kids and mixed ages of adults..Any
entertaiment ideas would be appreciated...Soon..the party is
Saturday!!!
CANDICE -- Thursday, July 15 2004, 02:38 pm My best friend is having her party this weekend and I was to
come up with game thanks for the help!!!
Judy -- Friday, July 16 2004, 12:11 pm How about bridal pictionary?
Have your guest/s (single or teams) try to draw pictures
of "things" that deal with bridal type words. They cannot
use numbers. They cannot verbalize....etc. They- person,
or "team" that gets a group of words completed in the
shortest amount of time - wins. Words like: I do, ceremony,
altar, engagement, matrimony, bachelor party, etc. Of
course, you have to provide a space to draw where all can
see, and you have to have a timer.
stella -- Monday, July 19 2004, 03:18 pm i am giving my sister an engagement party on the 14th of
aug. it is going to be a '60s pot luck and i have no idea
what games to play. any advice you can give i would be
forever greatful.
kathy -- Tuesday, July 20 2004, 01:30 am u all suck
kathy -- Wednesday, July 21 2004, 12:09 am actually--i suck....i'm such a loser :(
Alicia -- Wednesday, July 21 2004, 02:04 am Two weeks ago we had a shower for my daughter and I did the
games, most of which came from this site. When my daughter
thanked me, she said it was the best shower she had ever
been to. Her is one game that everyone liked. Each person
gets a piece of paper, marker or pencil and something thick
to draw on, like a magazine. They write their name on the
paper, turn it over, put it on the book, set it on top of
their head and draw the bride in her wedding dress with all
accessories. The bride picks the best picture and that
person gets the prize. Makes for some interesting pictures
in the wedding scrapbook.
Nicole -- Thursday, July 22 2004, 12:23 am Thank you for all the ideas and the fun games. The "COMDON
BIT". That was FUNNY.
Carole from Michigan -- Saturday, July 24 2004, 11:40 am We are having a 'post' wedding bridal shower for the bride.
She is out of town and could not squeeze in time for another
shower before the wedding, so we said don't stress out "how
about after". Any ideas for games that might be fun now
that she has experienced 'wedded bliss' first hand!
Somehow I always get the honor of planning the games and I'm
plum out of fresh ideas...help.
Tracey -- Tuesday, July 27 2004, 01:17 pm I just combined two of these ideas. I think I will use this
for my sister-in-laws' shower this Sat. :)
Here's a time saver for the bride - and a great raffle
game for guests. As guests enter, hand them a preprinted
decorative index card. On this card, they're asked to write
their name, gift given, and a wedding wish for the bride
(and groom). They all go in a basket. Throughout the shower,
cards are chosen and prizes are awarded to the guest whose
card was drawn. Small bouquets of flowers are nice gift
ideas - or even bath salts, lotions, etc. At the end of the
shower, the bridesmaids slip all of the cards into a mini
decorated/personalized photoalbum so that its easier to
write out Thank you cards and remember the special day at
the same time. Have everyone fill out an envelope with their
address on it. Then draw one envelope at the end of the
party and they get a door prize. Then bride doesn't have to
waste time filling out addresses on thank you cards.
Someone can fill out all addresses onto an address book for
bride too for a permanent place. Put the index cards into
the envelope!
audrey -- Tuesday, July 27 2004, 05:55 pm very good ideas needed some for my daughters bridal shower
thanks they helped alot
zoe -- Wednesday, July 28 2004, 01:20 pm Here's a game that's great.
Have a friend that no one knows come to the shower and put a
gift on the gift table. Obviously people will talk to her
and try to figure out who she is. At some point during the
shower, have everyone stand up one at a time and tell their
name and how they are related to the bride or groom. When it
comes to the friend no one knows, she stands up and say's
"Oh my, I think I'm at the wrong shower" and leaves. As she
gets up, she spills everything out of her purse. Of course,
everyone will try to help her pick everything up. After she
leaves, someone says, "The jokes on you, that was a friend
of mine, now everyone write on a peice of paper what was in
her purse" It's funny to see what people "thought" they saw
in her purse. The person with the most correct answers win!
She could have things like a beanie baby, lipstick, a brush,
a hair tie, a spoon, a peice of string, a condom, a
vibrator, etc.
-- Wednesday, July 28 2004, 09:28 pm THE CONDOM BIT WAS FUNNY!
NOT THAT i ACTUALLY USED IT. i PERSONALLY USED THE CONDOM
FOR SOMETHIG ELSE.BUT ANY HOW YOU ALL SHOULD BE WORRIED
ABOUT THE WEDDING PLANS THAN WORRY ABOUT CONDOM GAMES. yOU
ALL NEED A LIFE AND YOU ALL I BET YOU ALL PROBLY GOT A
DIVORCE BECAUSE INSTED OF INSTENCHUATING YOUR NEW MATES, YOU
ARE TALKING ABOUT GAMES TO OTHER PEOPLE THAT YOU SHOULD BE
PLAYING THINGS WITH YOUR NEW MATES!!!
zoe -- Thursday, July 29 2004, 09:29 am your a jerk! LOSER
zoe -- Thursday, July 29 2004, 09:33 am why are you spending time in this bridal games section if
all your going to do is b!tch about it. Not all of us are
the ones getting married. We are the ones throwing the
shower trying to get some game ideas. I think your a low
life and you have nothing better to do because your life is
boring.

karen -- Wednesday, August 4 2004, 01:18 am thank you for this web site. it was very helpful for my

i liked the wedding dress game . i thought it would be very
for them.
DARYL -- Wednesday, August 4 2004, 10:34 am PLEASE HELP! MY DAUGHTER'S BRIDAL SHOWER HAS A LADY'S SHOE
THEME. I NEED A SHOWER GAME SURROUNDING THAT THEME.
zoe -- Wednesday, August 4 2004, 11:53 am DARYL
here's is a game I copied and pasted from another web site
for you:
The Shoe Game
My aunt told everyone to place one shoe in the center of the
room in a large pile. Then she handed everyone their own
"secret number" that no one was allowed to share with anyone
else. She then told everyone to retrieve their shoe when you
heard your secret number called. When she called the first
number, everyone dashed out to the center of the room to
grab their shoe. It turns out she gave everyone the same
number. It was a scream and something that I'll never
forget.
Lori -- Wednesday, August 4 2004, 12:58 pm The theme for the wedding shower I am planning is Vegas.
Any ideas for VEGAS GAMES!
zoe -- Wednesday, August 4 2004, 03:19 pm I'm looking for some games for children to play. Both boys
and girls. I have a word search for them to do, but I'm also
looking for another game they can play.
Most of the games at the shower they can do, but I want
something for only them.
Anyone have any ideas?
Courtney -- Thursday, August 5 2004, 10:04 pm I was curious if anyone had any other ideas for a Luau
shower! There will be all ages, so I would like to keep this
"family" shower a little conservative. There will be about
60 people. I'll take all the other advice and ideas for the
2nd all friends shower. Thanks
Dawn -- Saturday, August 7 2004, 03:05 pm Thanks for all the ideas.
D -- Sunday, August 8 2004, 03:23 pm i love the gift bingo, it seems easy to get distracted while
the breide to be opens her haul.
A game i am planning on playing at my brothers couples
shower this weekend with my side of the family (boys and
girls of all ages) was to ask questions from the Newlywed
game. My husband and I will go through and find some
questions that would not be too embarassing, but find out
instresting things from our Aunts, Uncles and cousins...
Emily -- Monday, August 9 2004, 03:13 pm Zoe,
We played hot potato with kids at a shower and they loved
it. We used wedding music while they were passing a small
pillow around. Even the adults loved watching the kids
having fun.
Allison -- Monday, August 9 2004, 05:14 pm thank you for all the ideas.. they are very helpful.
zoe -- Tuesday, August 10 2004, 09:09 am Thanks Emily for the hot potato idea. That's gonna go over
great. I don't know why I didn't think of that myself.
Cathy -- Tuesday, August 10 2004, 09:43 am Very nice web page, with wonderful ideas.Thank you!
Michelle -- Tuesday, August 10 2004, 03:38 pm I'm trying to find a copy of this shower rhyme game I played
at a shower last year. The hostess handed out beautifully
printed copies of this rhyme and read it to the guests, each
rhyming part had points associated with it (10 pts. for each
diamond, minus pts. for wearing panty hose, plus points for
buttons, minus points for not wearing a bra. I found
something similar searching the web, but can't find the
exact poem... It was very sweet though.
Amy -- Tuesday, August 10 2004, 07:31 pm I'm looking for the game where you pass a book with
different clues. For example, the first clue will say pass
the book with the lady with the most rings on her fingers.
The woman that has the book last gets the centerpiece at the
table
Mary Ann -- Thursday, August 12 2004, 03:07 pm I have a game we played at my daughter's engagement party
and everyone had fun. It was called "Flamingo Follies". We
bought 6 plast flamingos on a stick and dressed them. The
first one was in a striped prison uniform and was named
"Fear of Commitement", the second was made into a frog
wearing a crown and it was called: "Someday My Prince Will
Come", third was "Ol' Ball and Chain" and we made a ball and
chain out of strofoam and paper links. Pain the styrofoam
black. Fourth, was dressed like a bride and called "I
DO????????????", Fifth was dressed in a tuxcedo with a top
hat and wearing furry red slippers and was called: "Cold
Feet" and sixth, was "Mother-in-law from Hell" and had a
pitch fork, horns, tail and red cape all improvised with
craft things. Then we put tape on the floor in horizontal
rows. Then the MC would throw the dice (big furry ones are
fun) and that Flamingo would go. They would throw the dice
again to see how many lines the flamingo would advance. The
first won to reach the last horizontal line wins a prize.
Meanwhile the MC makes it fun by Yelling out "Ol' Ball Chain
is in the lead", etc.!
Andrew -- Thursday, August 12 2004, 08:11 pm I am mc'ing a friends wedding and would like to do the game
with the exchanged shoes answering who would be first to do
certain activities. I would like to get some questions that
I could ask. For example... Who will have to apologize
first? If you have any good ones please forward!

Paula -- Saturday, August 14 2004, 03:11 am Thanks so much for sharing all the great, fun ideas. I'm

excited to put the shower together.
Zee -- Saturday, August 14 2004, 05:20 pm Theses games are really funny, @ my sisters bridal shower
everyone had a blast...thanx for the Ideas
Lillian -- Saturday, August 14 2004, 05:53 pm Fun ideas, as for the people who are making fun of this web
site, they obviously have too much time on their hands, and
should get a life!! I have a game: make a list of words
that relate to the wedding, and honeymoon and then scramble
the letters. Hand everyone at the shower the paper of
scramble letters and see who unscrambles the most in the
alotted time. Lots of fun.
Kendra -- Monday, August 16 2004, 09:45 pm you guys have TONS of great ideas!!!!! but im having a
hawaiian theme so if anyone has any ideas id REALLY
appreciate it!!! thanx!!!
Kara -- Thursday, August 19 2004, 03:53 pm Take a picture of the groom and blow-up his face. Buy a
poster of a model and place the picture of the groom over
the model's face. Then cut out of black construction paper,
shapes that look like bow-ties. Play pin the bow-tie on the
groom!
lori perez -- Saturday, August 21 2004, 04:06 pm I LOVE THIS WEBSITE IT SAVED MY BRIDAL SHOWER THANK YOU SO
MUCH !!!!!!!!
Mary in Washington state -- Saturday, August 21 2004, 07:28 pm Isn't the internet wonderful! Thanks for all the great
ideas. The shower I'm having for my friend will be so much
fun thanks to the ideas I found here.
ana-maria -- Monday, August 23 2004, 11:11 pm for my sister in law's bridal shower i have asked all the
guests to bring pictures of themselves young( even toddler)
and put them on a display board for everyone to guess who is
who. the person with the most correct answers wins!
Gina -- Tuesday, August 24 2004, 06:49 am I actually did these games for my baby shower but, this
could possibly work for a wedding shower too...i had a cook
book or you could use anything. i wrapped that once. taped a
lotto ticket to the outside of that, wrapped it again. then
stuck another lotto ticket to that one and did that about 3
or so times. played music like hot potato, when the music
stopped, the person unwrapped it once kept the lotto ticket
but, was out of the game.the game continued until the last
prize was reveled to the cook book and they kept it. It was
really fun and the people that were out didn't feel so
bummed that they lost. Another game that i played at the
shower was to have a bowl, safety-pins, a blindfold, and
rice. mix sp and rice in bowl, blindfold the person, give
the person a time limit to 1 minute or so and see who could
get the most out of using just one hand. the person with the
hightest sp wins! hope it might be useful! have fun!
Joyce Packer -- Tuesday, August 24 2004, 08:39 am I need a shower game that uses names of flowers to answewr
questions about the bride, groom and wedding. I have lost
the original copy. Thanks.
JoAsiah -- Wednesday, August 25 2004, 01:26 am I was in charge of one of the games for my cousins wedding
shower who happens to be very shy, of course we had to play
on that. Every woman who was invited to the shower was
instructed to go a buy the sexiest/naughtiest pair of
painties she could find in the brides size. They were also
to purchase a $1 lotto scratcher ticket, and to place them
both in a plain brown paper lunch bag. When they arrived at
the party they were place their bag in a basket by the door
and keep secret which bag was theirs. Then after everyone
had arrived we had the bride open each bag one at a time.
She would first scratch the ticket, if she won it was her
choice to show us the panties, however if she lost she had
to put them on over her cloths and model them around the
room for everyone to see. It turned out to be alot of fun,
not too embarrassing but enough to crack everyone up. You
get the added bonus of knowing what your friends consider
sexy/naughty, that is if they fess up to who brought which
panties.
Lauren -- Wednesday, August 25 2004, 12:57 pm I have to plan my friend's wedding shower and I am so
nervous because I've never done anything like htis before.
She is my first friend to get married and this is my first
time as a maid-of-honour or even a bridesmaid for that
matter. Have any advice for me on how not to be nervous &
screw up the wedding shower?
Cynthia -- Thursday, August 26 2004, 01:59 pm I am glad that you have this website. My boss and best
friend is getting married and I want her to have one of the
best wedding showers ever. YOur ideas sure did help.

news- -- Monday, August 30 2004, 08:20 pm news
-- Tuesday, August 31 2004, 01:33 pm Mary Ann- To your game dated August 12, 2004 (Flamingo
Follies)
We played this game at my co-ed shower and it was a big hit.
We changed the third one to Baby Blues and put a bib and
diaper on it.(That's the one that won, by the way) And we
put the ball and chain on the Fear of Commitement. Everyone
LOVED it. It was almost like gambling.
This Flamingo Follies game is listed 18 posts up if any one
is interested.
Also, you can find the Flamingo's at any Party store. We
found blow up ones that worked awesome (Sometimes they are
called Ostriches, but they are pink, don't ask me that's how
they are) then gave them away and the end of the shower.
zoe -- Tuesday, August 31 2004, 01:35 pm Everyone was in teams and they were all yelling out their
number to win. THis Flamingo game is so much fun. You can
use any animal you want. But the flamingo's looked the best.
alisha -- Tuesday, August 31 2004, 11:20 pm so stressed about this shower thing. glad to know im not the
only one. awesome website, helpful responses and great game
ideas. Not to mention so supportive.
Delia -- Saturday, September 4 2004, 12:41 am I like this one, its called makeup makeover blind folded.
Its where you blind fold the bride to be, and she's to give
you the makeover. it gets pretty hilarious. I saw my sister
with her new makeover so wild and bright. It gave the new
meaning, not everyone can apply makeup, and make it work out
the way it should of the first try. Make sure your wearing
plastic cover ups, as this will cover up any mistakes the
bride to be MIGHT make, when others are ooohing, when under
that your laughing.
cara -- Monday, September 6 2004, 07:21 pm Some good ideas here. I'm looking for ideas for games to
play at a wedding reception. We actually played the bride
and groom shoe game at our reception and it was really
funny. I'd play it again but I would like to have a new
idea instead. Anyone have any unique ideas? thanks
Kate -- Tuesday, September 7 2004, 09:52 am I have given several showers and am planning one for my
sister. We always play the "Crossed legs" game (your new
groom won't like your legs with varicose veins), but I use
the small bag clips. They are cheap and the guests get to
keep whatever they can collect and also get a prize for the
most. The flamingo game sounds like a hoot. Think I'll try
it!
katie -- Wednesday, September 8 2004, 07:19 pm Thanks for the great ideas now my sisters wedding shower
will be tons of fun!! =)
Sami -- Thursday, September 9 2004, 11:58 pm Absolutely wonderful! Thanks for this site, the ideas, and
the wonderful creativeness posted.
Go Nuts with Love. xxx
Renee -- Monday, September 13 2004, 01:55 am At my baby shower we played pin the sperm on the egg. We cut
out a picture of my partners face and placed it on the head
of the sperm and used a picture of my face inside the egg.
It was really funny and a bit cheeky. Strangely enough my
partner was the only one to pin the sperm successfully onto
the egg. Must be fate!
Renee -- Monday, September 13 2004, 01:56 am Ooops... I meant to say that this game could still be used
for a wedding theme. You could even give the egg a viel and
the sperm a bow- tie.
Toni -- Thursday, September 16 2004, 10:38 pm Hello.....I need your help!! Any game ideas to raffle off
the CENTRE PIECE @ a wedding reception??
Gail -- Friday, September 17 2004, 08:41 pm I was at a shower were they played memory game with wedding
names...like bride first house bridegroom if you got the
match you received the candy that went with it for instance
bride is bit o honey, first house is fifth avenue. etc...I
have not been able to find the game anywhere since then and
I was wondering if anyone knows the game....
Amber -- Tuesday, September 21 2004, 09:25 pm Thanks to everyone with the great ideas. I am having a
naughty and nice shower for my best friend on Saturday.I was
really wanted to do games that were more untraddional. I
think I will do one of the more naughty games as well as one
of the nice games. Thanks for releaving the stress.
Denise -- Thursday, September 23 2004, 03:30 am Another racy game would be to do naughty charades. It's
actually a better drinking game but good just to play it
otherwise. Everyone think of some saucy or sexy words, put
it in a bowl and each person take turns acting it out (or
maybe just get the bride to). If people can not guess what
it is in a certain time, the person doing the charade has to
drink a shot.
Cindy -- Friday, September 24 2004, 03:13 pm wow thanks i got a lot of useful things from here im gonna
twist a few things up a little and it will all be awesome
thanks...oh and dont stress any negative comments about this
site you know there always has to be that one person that
spoils things...thanks for the ideas
Connie -- Friday, September 24 2004, 04:14 pm Here's a game that is so much fun and I didn't see it on
this site...
Give each guest two small pieces of paper. On one, guests
are to write a potential problem that couples may encounter
after they are married. On the other, guests write a
solution to the problem. Put all 'problems' in one basket
and all solutions in another basket. Mix each basket up and
one at a time, draw a problem out of the problem basket,
read it aloud, and then read a solution from the other
basket. Hilarious!

Glorie- Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 -- Friday, September 24 2004, 06:13 pm Hi, I AM ALWAYS THE ONE PUTTING GAMES TOGETHER. ALL THE
IDEAS HERE ARE GREAT. HERE IS ONE NOT POSTED. LINE UP YOUR
GROOMSMEN (THEN OTHER GUEST OR BRIDESMAIDS). EACH NEEDS A
QUARTER. TELL THEM TO PLACE THE COIN INSIDE THEIR KNEES
HOLDING TIGHT WITHOUT USING THEIR HANDS AT ALL. KNEES SHOULD
BE TIGHT TOGETHER WITH THE COIN HOLDING ON. THEN, THEY NEED
TO WALK ABOUT 12 TO 15 STEPS WITHOUT DROPPING THE QUARTER.
THEN, THEY NEED TO DROP THE COIN INTO A SHOT GLASS. THE ONE
THAT DOESN'T DROP THE COIN PLUS MAKES IT IN THE SHOT GLASS
WINS. BYE.....HAVE FUN- ITS FUNNY BECAUSE MY AUNT WALKED
AND HAD HER KNEES THIGHT TOGETHER AND SHE HAD DROPPED THE
QUARTER FROM THE BEGINNING. LOTS OF LAUGHS.....
GLORIE -- Friday, September 24 2004, 06:18 pm To get a full picture of just about all your guests you can
also have a practice garter throw and a bouquet throw.
Believe me, the married ones go crazy. They want to catch
these items badly. Plus, you get a crazy group picture thats
a great keepsake.
Glorie -- Friday, September 24 2004, 06:28 pm Another great fun game is the Panty hose game. We played
this in a covered pavillion so we took a good size carpet
and we blindfolded two players. We threw a queen size pair
of pantyhose and the the that found them had to put them on
all the way. It was so funny. We also had very large size
groom and bride pinatas. Inside they had candy, condoms,
nasty lipsticks and sexy women undies. We used a small fake
gift box and this was considered a prize. The girls broke
the groom and the guys broke the bride pinata. Each pinata
had a gift box that won a prize. The children were not
involved in this and they were told to stay in another area
and everyone was nice that all the adults picked up the
candie and threw it to them. they waited for this patiently.
We had popcorn for them, punch, cake.
Elisa -- Monday, September 27 2004, 04:18 pm At my bachelorette party i received a laundry basket filled
with various "stuff". Each item had a little saying to go
with it, for example - Tylenol - For when you have a
headache. I cannot even remember the rest but it was really
cute and I wanted to do something like that for my friend
getting married. any ideas?
Michelle -- Friday, October 1 2004, 05:13 pm What a great help this website was! We had a shower for a
lady at work and needed something not so "showery". We took
8 items which symbolized something about the wedding and had
her try and figure out what they meant. We even gave her
"life-lines" she could pick one of us to giver her a 1 or 2
word hint. It was really a lot of fun and she was stumped!
A metal washer/nut represented the rings
Tape dispenser represented the gifts
A piece of tool/netting represented the good luck by
throwing bird seed
A piece of white lace represented the wedding dress.
A Hostess chocolate ding-dong represented the wedding bells
(no not the groom)
A long fireplace match represented the candles
An egg represented the wedding cake
A piece of satin lace represented the bouquet
amanda -- Sunday, October 3 2004, 08:19 pm Hello All!! I love these ideas. I've got 6 days to plain a
wedding shower and i had no idea what kind of games i was
going to play. I was looking on the computer and ran across
this website. THANK YOU!!!! This is a big help to me. I will
stop back bye and let you know how it went. PLEASE keep the
game ideas coming.
HUGS & KISSES!!
Marcia -- Wednesday, October 6 2004, 11:24 pm We played this at my Mothers birthday party, it was great. I
thought it might be fun at a shower too.
Place two tape lines approx 10-12 feet apart. Have people
pair up. Place equal size potatoes (one for each pair) on
the first line. Now give each of the pair a pair of panty
hose with equal size cucumbers slid down one leg. Have each
of the pair tie the panty hose around thier waist, with the
cucumber end at ground level. Now place your hands behind
your back and swing your hips to swing the cucumber to bump
the potatoe across the other tape line. Its harder than you
think and really funny to boot. Enjoy.
Marilyn -- Friday, October 8 2004, 03:43 pm We have played Scattorgories using the bride's first
initial, then the groom's.. Questions like "a wedding
necessity", "something in a kit. pantry" "in a bathroom",
"honeymoon location", etc. The person who matches most with
the bride's answer wins a gift (that is ultimately given
back to bride)

Joyce -- Wednesday, October 20 2004, 10:02 pm This game is fun even for the kids. Hand a sheet of paper
and pencil to all the guests. Have them draw a picture of
the bride in her gown while looking up at the cieling or you
can blind fold them. Then have them write their names on the
back. The bride to be chooses her favorite as the winner
then looks on the back to see who it is. It's really funny
to see the all the pictures.
Kristi -- Monday, November 8 2004, 03:36 pm I attended a bridal shower for my daughters best friend.
They had 5 guys and the groom roll one pants leg up to the
knees.. the bride to be had to feel the legs and guess which
was her future husband. It was really funny!
Karina Fonseca -- Wednesday, November 10 2004, 02:33 pm I have a great game that I'd love to share! It was such a
hit at my bridal shower that you have to include it in yours
or someone you know. Hopefully you'll have as much fun as
we did! :)
It's called the "Love Letter." It's a letter from the
groom to the bride. It looks nice if you retype it on
pretty paper. Give each person at the shower their own
letter. They can pair in teams or work on it individually.
Let your guests know that they should fill in the blanks
with household products (cleaning products and kitchen
products), but do NOT give them the answers. It's much more
fun to watch them scramble around racking their brains to
find the answers. The coordinator should keep the answers
stashed away so the guests don’t get temped to cheat. Here
are the answers: Bride's
Name/Solo/Fantastic/Sunlight/Era/Gain/Bold/Glad/Bounce/Joy/S
hout/Cheer/Scott/Pledge/Tide
/Whisk/Future/Dynamo/Snuggle/Dawn/All/Groom's Name.
Here's the letter(include the title on each letter):
LOVE LETTER
My Darling_______________,
Before we met, I was a lonely guy, going _____.
Then, something________happened. And like a ray of
_________, you came into my life. I knew right away that it
was the beginning of a new ________. I had nothing to lose
and everything to ________; I decided to be __________. And
boy an I ________ I did!
Today, there's a _______ in my step and ______ in my
heart. Because of you, I want to _______ and ________,
"Great ________! What a lucky guy I am!"
Dearest, I can't wait until we ________ our love, a
love stronger than the _______, to one another for all time.
Then I'll ________ you away to a beautiful _________. I'll
be your all night ________; I'll ________ with you until
________.... whatever you desire.
________ my love forever,

Leslie Gilmore -- Thursday, November 11 2004, 12:26 am In college, I attended many lingerie showers with lots of
fun games. Here is one of my favorites.
Have everyone think of their least favorite cleaning
activity or household chore. They need to complete this
sentence: "I hate __________ because ..." Then they put it
into a basket. When every one is through, pass the basket
around again, and tell everyone to pick out one paper, but
it can't be their own. When everyone has one, tell them
that they're going to read them aloud, but instead of saying
the cleaning activity or chore, they have to substitute the
word "sex." This was hilarious! We got answers like, "I
hate sex because my fingers get all pruny" or "I hate sex
because there's always more to do!" This was so fun, but
keep in mind, these were college girls. This game might not
go over so well with moms, aunts, and grandmothers, but then
again, they may love it!

DID SOMETHING REALLY CUTE WHILE I WAS UNWRAPPING MY GIFTS AT
THE SHOWER. SHE WRAPPED UP DIFFERENT CANDY BARS WITH
DIFFERENT SAYINGS THAT WERE SO FUNNY, I HAD TO SAY THEM IN
FRONT OF A LOT OF PEOPLE BUT IT SURE GOT THEIR ATTENTION.
FIRST YOU READ THE SAYING THEN OPEN THE WRAPPED UP CANDY
BAR. SOME OF THEM WERE: SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT TO SAY ON
YOUR HONEYMOON (OH HENRY), SOMETHING YOU DON'T WANT YOUR
HUSBAND TO HAVE ON YOUR WEDDING NIGHT (BUTTERFINGER), WHEN
YOU HAVE KIDS YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO BE (NERDS), THERE WERE
ALOT OF FUNNY ONES AND IF YOUR CREATIVE THIS IS REALLY FUNNY

I am in charge of games for a wedding/baby shower. Thanks
for some great ideas. I am going to have a hard time
narrowing down the choices so we don't spend an eternity
playing games.
Connie -- Tuesday, January 11 2005, 09:40 pm This is a version of the panty hose game that was mentioned
above. We use a tennis ball in one foot of the panty hose.
Have the players put the panty hose on their heads. Tuck
the extra leg up inside the body part of the panty hose to
get it out of the way. Place identical size/weight boxes
on the floor. The players must swing the panty hose with
tennis ball [not using hands] to hit the box and knock it
across the room to a designated line. We had the parents of
the bride and groom to be the ones to play this game for
entertainment. You can have the fathers or mothers compete
against one another or let the parents work as a team. This
is so funny because the panty hose legs will get wrapped
around each other. Before this game began we told the guest
that different couples had different way to solve problems
and this game would demostrate the way each couple worked
together. Be sure to have the boxes fairly close together
and have players facing each other as they swing.
Ketra -- Friday, January 14 2005, 02:36 am Here's a game my best friend did for me at my bridal
shower.... It's called Who now's the bride to be best. She
passed out a list of questions that were all about me.
Example how many tattoo's does the bride to be have? What is
her favorite color, Ect... The person who get's the most
answered right gets a price.

Jennifer, in Texas -- Tuesday, January 18 2005, 06:53 pm I am planning my little sisters LINGERIE shower in 2 months.
These are all great game ideas, and I plan on using alot of
them. Great work you guys!!
I now need some ideas on some naughty looking finger foods
and decorations. The cake is going to be a pink lacey
bustier. I also thought of little weiners w/ dip and
chocolate covered strawberries.
Any ideas of any other "sexy or naughty" type foods?
I figured instead of using standard balloons, using blown up
condoms!
I'd appreciate any other ideas you may have! You can email
me at jenntbarnes@yahoo.com
Thanks again, and good luck to all of you! (Brides and
hostesses!)

Val -- Wednesday, January 19 2005, 01:14 am This game is kind of neat...You get small zip lock bags,
(the kind they put beads in), number them 1 to 10, then put
in each one a different spice. Without opening the bag,
they must identify the contents. It's not as easy as it
sounds..(e.g. cream of tartar and flour look very much
alike) .it's amazing how people come up with entirely
different conclusions. Put a time limit on it then listen
to the groans as you tell them the right answers.

Pam -- Sunday, January 23 2005, 09:16 am Does anyone know where I could find information on a bridal
shower fame that rhymes? It's a small book that you make
up and each page has some different saying on it like pass
this book to the woman with the biggest purse...then she
would read the next page and it would say something like,
pass this book to the woman with the longest hair, etc...
this goes on until whomever has the book at the every end,
wins a prize. I don't know what this game is called and I
can't find it anywhere online. Thanks for your help.
Liz Krebs -- Sunday, January 23 2005, 09:35 am I am planning a "phantom" shower for niece who lives out of
town. So no one will actually be there when she opens her
gifts. Invitees are from several states and will mail their
gifts to her. Any games that I could arrange by mail?

Krissy -- Sunday, January 23 2005, 08:44 pm i have a great one d.j gets a list of 5-10 crazy dancers
calls them all on the dance floor and blindfolds them while
everyone is watching how funny they look the d.j starts
quietly pushing one by one off the floor until only one is
standing the one dancer still thinks the others are there.
the d.j talks as if the others were still out on the floor
edging the last one to dance crazier. at the end the
craziest one gets a prize (he doesnt know he is the only one
left until the blindfold is off)

Bezza - Tuesday 25th Jan, 2005. 2.04pm -- Monday, January 24 2005, 11:10 pm Am having an Engagement Party for my daughter Sharon this
weekend and was looking for something to spice the party up
abit. My eldest son gave me the link to this site. Have
now got some great ideas. Thankks to all. Have decided to
do the toilet roll wedding dress; but use males to be the
brides instead. Especially the Groom. See what he looks
like in a wedding dress.
Bailey D. -- Thursday, January 27 2005, 05:45 pm These games were very helpful. I am planning my sisters
wedding shower, and it is sneeking up on me. I think the
suggested games are great and will be a lot of fun.
Lois C. from Canada -- Thursday, January 27 2005, 09:20 pm I think you had a lot of great games. There was a lot of
misspelled words in some of the replys, but the games was
excellent, especially the one about teh lady giving everyone
the same numbers to go get their shoes out of the middle of
the room. I laughed until my sides hurt, because I could
imagine and picture this in my mind. Keep up the good work.
There is not much you can get these days that's free, so God
bless the person who done this sight!

Jan from So Cal -- Friday, January 28 2005, 12:50 am A fun game is to put vegetables and fruit in a box such as a
corrot and two kiwi, banana and two tomatoes, ( have fun
with it) cut a hole in the side of the box big enough to fit
a hand through. Have the guests reach in and feel the
contents and try to write down each item. As you reveal the
contents arrange them in shape of the male anatomy. the
person who identifies the most fruits and veggis wins. It
is hillarious to watch the faces of your guests as you
arrange the Food.
JAN FROM MICHIGAN -- Saturday, January 29 2005, 09:36 pm GREAT WEBSITE HAVE A PROBLEM THOUGH...THE GUESTS AT THIS
BRIDAL SHOWER ARE ALL OLDER WOMEN AND NOT INTO THE SEXY
STUFF. ONE OF THEM SUGGESTED AN OLD GAME THEY USED TO LOVE
TOPLAY AT SHOWERS CALLED 50-50 WITH DICE. THE PROBLEM IS "I
AM TOO YOUNG TO REMEMBER THE GAME AND THEY JUST DON'T
REMEMBER ALL THE RULES: BUT THEY DO REMEMER HOW TO PLAY. SO
IF ANYONE OUT THERE CAN EXPLAIN THE SCORING PROCESS; I WILL
FOREVER BE GRATEFUL.
karich -- Sunday, January 30 2005, 12:18 am this is pretty good for mixed group. blow up balloons
different sizes but full enough to pop easily. have the men
pair up with a woman not their spouse or girlfriend. it
will get everyone acquainted for fun. give the couples
five-six balloons a piece or they can retrieve from a box.
men are sitting on a chair, the partner gets a ballon puts
it on his lap, she sits down really hard to pop it. he can
help by pinching the balloon or holding her waist helping
her jump up and down on his lap. the fastest wins a prize.
Adele -- Sunday, January 30 2005, 10:59 pm My shower is in May and one of my bridesmaids gave me a
great game for my shower. One person is nominated from each
table. The contestants have to put on oven mits and attempt
to put on a pair of knee high panythose. Everyone gets to
keep the oven mits and the winner gets a prize...its a
win-win situation.
Another great game is cheap and hilarious to play. I
have been to @ least 3 showers where this was played and it
killed every time. 2 ladies from each table that have their
birthdays closest to the shower date have to gather in the
center of the room. The bridesmaids hand out large oranges
or small plastic balls. The women have to put the
ball/orange between their heads and dance to the music. The
twist is always a hilarious choice...but any music will do.
If the orange/ball drops those 2 women return to their
seats. The 2 women left dancing wins. Trust me...this game
is sure to have everyone in hysterics!
GOOD LUCK!
Carrie -- Monday, January 31 2005, 05:14 pm Thanks ladies! My future SIL's shower planning day is coming
up soon and I wanted to be ready with some great ideas.
These are fantastic!
Thanks for sharing!
Stacey from CA -- Saturday, February 5 2005, 12:14 am Hi!! I've got some great ideas. Thanks!!
Here's a game that I've done at a few showers. It's
HILARIOUS!!! First prepare a bag full of clothes. A bunch
of mismatched clothes, an oversized bra, maybe some ski
goggles, etc. Make the items totally random.
At the shower tell the story that the bride is on her
honeymoon, naked of course, and their hotel catches on fire
so she has to flee ASAP. She grabs the bag of clothes to
get dressed.
Have everyone go around and guess how long it will take
for her to get dressed.
Then the bride dresses ASAP, time her, and the guest w/
the closest time wins!!! :)) So FUNNY!!!
Stacey from CA part 2 -- Saturday, February 5 2005, 12:15 am I forgot to sat that she has to put the items on in the
order that she pulls them. So it could be socks over shoes,
etc.
Amanda Sweet -- Saturday, February 5 2005, 06:23 pm I am planning my sister's bridal shower and this was a very
helpful site.
Patty S -- Thursday, February 10 2005, 01:34 pm Our family has a tradition called Bride Bingo that's a
little different than the ones here. You need 2 separate
decks of cards. Each guest gets 3 cards. The dealer uses the
other deck and randomly draws cards, reading the face and
suit. As they are called, guests turn down the card that
matches a card in their hand. The first guest to get all 3
of her cards called out shouts "Bride Bingo" and gets the
prize.

Jessica -- Friday, February 18 2005, 10:15 am Im gettin married later this year and wanted to find some
fun games to play at my shower so i can ass them on to my
sister who is planning it. This site is great and i love the
ideas! Keep them coming!!! I have a game but i don't know
how good it will work out. Put lil slips of paper in ballons
and blow them up. Have a ballon for each guest, they pick
ballons as they come in, have some ballons say you win on
the slips of paper, after they pop the ballons theyll find
out if theyve won a prize or not. Itz funny watching them
scramble to find the paper flying around
Taylor -- Friday, February 18 2005, 12:26 pm I have a very large group of people coming to my shower
(both sides of the family) and was wondering what games we
could play to maybe get everyone better aquainted. It's
going to be awkward...not many of them have met, plus we
have my co-workers and his. Please email any ideas to: taylorleigh540@yahoo.com
Thanks...and oh yeah....the shower's tomorrow at 2:00 ;)
michele taylor -- Friday, February 18 2005, 09:56 pm Here's a easy game. Get a roll of tolet paper and tell your
guests take a much as they need.
When they finish ask them to put it around there waist,
whoever is closer to there waist size wins.
Sarah - Maid of Honor -- Saturday, February 19 2005, 11:43 am Another game idea.... What's in your Purse? List 20 items or
so with different points and pass to the ladies. Who ever
has the most items in their purse wins a prize. Ideas...
nail file, something blue, wedding photo, shower invitation,
guy's phone number, etc. Can get creative. Works for all
ages. ... Something mentioned another game in an above...
about a book, passing it to woman with most rings, then
woman with longest hair. Can anyone give me more information
on that one. Sounds interesting. Hosting a tea party/shower
with mainly middle-aged women (friends of the mother of the
bride). Any other tame ideas would be great. Good luck.
Vet CottonTayL -- Sunday, February 20 2005, 07:52 pm I really enjoyed perusing the various games for the showers.
I have added quite a few to my collections for future
parties. Giving my very best friend a shower with some
other loved ones and I am so glad to find so many fun games!
Thanks to everyoen. I have to do the game where the bride
has to dress from the burning hotel! That has to be a hoot!
Wanda -- Monday, February 21 2005, 12:30 pm I am giving a wedding shower for my brother-in-law and his

suggestions?

shower out alot
bec -- Wednesday, February 23 2005, 08:02 am I've got a friends hens night this weekend and a game that
I've organised is for the bridesmaids to prepare some
playdough (coloured is good) beforehand. Each guest receives
some and they are then told that they have to make a man's
penis out of the playdough. The bride-to-be then judges
which one she thinks is the best and that guest receives a
prize. The bridesmaids then need to inform the bride that
she needs to carry that winning penis around with her all
night, and if she puts it down, she has to skull a shottie.
Enjoy!!
andrea -- Wednesday, February 23 2005, 02:45 pm Thanks for all the great ideas!!!!

Anita -- Monday, February 28 2005, 02:35 am Ionce played a game where we were asked if we had unusual
items in our purses and if we did we got a prize (ie, a
condom, food other than breath mints or gum, picture of a
spouse, etc.- anything that may not be in a woman's purse).
It was fun. Love all these other great ideas.

Amy -- Wednesday, March 2 2005, 08:54 pm I read a comment about wanting more info on the book game.
I have used it at two showers in the past years and it goes
like this.
On the cover: Names of Bride and Groom and Wedding Date
1st page: This game is really easy we hope that you have
fun. Noone can tell teh winner until the game is done.
2nd page: Each page of rhymes wil tell you just what you
are to do. They'll lead you to the winner perhaps it will be
you.
3rd pg: Roses are red violets are blue. Now pass this
book to the left of you.
4th pg: (Bride Name) and (Groom name) are counting down
to thier important day. We're all excited fro them it's not
that far away. Now give this book to the person with the
most recent birthday.
5th pg: The bride is still preparing there arelittle
things left to do. Now pass this book to the lady with the
eyes of brightest blue. But if there are no blue eyes to be
completely fair you must give this book to the person who
has the longest hair.
6th pg: We hope you all are having fun with the ryhmes
in every verse. Now pass this book to the person who has
the smallest purse.
7th pg: Wedding bells will be ringing soon "I do's"
we'll hear them say. Now pass this book to the lady with
the longest dress today.
8th pg: There are many binds in marriage faith and love
are the strongest. Please pass this on to the person who
has been married the longest.
9th pg: (Street) in (City) is where they will reside. Now
pass this book to the lady who is the newest bride.
10th pg: Family and friends come here today from places
near and far. Now pass this book to the person who came
furthest in their car.
11th pg: This game is nearly over and it's been fun, we
think. Now pass this book to the person with nails of
brightest pink!
12th pg: (Bride's Name) will be a gorgeous bride (And
-Groom's Name- will look good too!) The winner of the
centerpiece is the guest to the right of you!
You can use clip art to decorate the pages. We prinited the
pages on paper that matched to colors of the wedding. Also
you can put in little facts at the bottom of the pages like
bride's b-day, date they were engaged, date of the wedding,
# in wedding party, and so on. Don't tell anyone and after
you collect the books see who can remember the little facts.
Hope this helps.
kathy c -- Thursday, March 3 2005, 02:48 pm there is a lot of helpfull stuff here, I am a bride to be
and am having 2 showers one my mom is putting on for me and
for the other side my maid of honor and myself are putting
it on. I found a lot of great games for us to do! thanks.
Keri -- Sunday, March 6 2005, 10:02 pm I have hosted a few showers and a game that I have found to
be a success is the candle game. I buy different color
lunch sacks and different scented candles and put one in
each bag. The guest receive a card and must write what
scent of candle is in each bag. The key is to make sure
that the guest do not look at the candle (color can give
away alot). You would be surprised at how hard some scents
can be.
Judy -- Sunday, March 6 2005, 10:38 pm This is a game I did for a bridal shower last year. I
collected wedding photos from different eras....the 20s, 40s
50s, 70s, 90s etc....(from coworkers families, friends, my
family etc....just so the guests probably won't know the
people in the photos). I had maybe 5 or 6 photos and
numbered them, and put them into frames I had on hand. As
the guests arrived, I asked them to look at each photo and
guess the year. Some photos had the whole wedding party,
some just had the couple. Then we went thru the photos and
if the year was 1925 and the guest guessed 1930 they got 5
points (one point for each year they were off) and the
guest with the least total points was the winner.
The ladies of all ages really enjoyed this game.
jennifer -- Monday, March 7 2005, 12:12 am Thank you to everyone, very helpful ideas. I am trying to
figure out inexpensive favors I could give out. Maybe
things I could make myself. ANy ideas???? Thanks again
Elspeth -- Tuesday, March 8 2005, 10:47 pm Some great ideas, thanks everyone. I'm sure my favourite
niece's shower later this month will be a huge success with
some of these games. I recently attended a shower where we
were given a clothespin with a wedding related word printed
on it. We attached it to our clothing and if we said our
word during the shower and somebody else caught us, they
could steal our clothespin away. At the end of the shower
the guest wearing the most clothespins won a prize. A nice
tame game for the older, less risque bunch.
llilli -- Wednesday, March 9 2005, 03:11 am I attended a bridal shower where we were given a clothespin
with a small chilli pepper (which is supposed to represent
the male organ) Who ever crossed their legs and someone else
saw the chilli was taken away. At the end of the shower the
guest who collected the most chilli's won.
Zarina -- Wednesday, March 9 2005, 08:06 pm Well I just wanted to say thanx for all the get ideas for
games for at my sisters bridal shower. I just have another
lil problem, I'm my sister maid of honor and I'm not sure if
I have to write a speach for at the reception...and if I do,
I'm not exactly sure what I'm supose to write about or how
to start the speach off. If there was anyone that could help
me out that would be great. Thanx a million
Heather -- Wednesday, March 9 2005, 09:04 pm Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas.
Melissa -- Friday, March 11 2005, 02:14 pm Great ideas, I was at a loss tilli found this site! Shower

audrey chapman -- Saturday, March 12 2005, 05:06 pm my sister came to us and told us march 5th that she was
getting married talk about throwing a wedding together in
less then a month but we none it so far the showers tomorrow
I've got the no name, what's she knows about the groom, and
what in the bag and were planning to have someone come in
and do facily
so I think we are do great with that I hopeshe likes It for
the fact I'm getting married in september 2005
Jennifer -- Saturday, March 12 2005, 09:35 pm I always like to give useful products as part of a game,
especially if it makes the bride look silly in the process.
I got a list of uses for common household products from a
magazine one time. I then quizzed the bride to be & if she
didn't pick the right product, we had a friend fix her up
with an article of clothing that took her one step further
into looking like a frumpy housewife. We decorated her up
with pink fuzzy slippers, a t-shirt with holes in it, big
baggy sweatpants, and then stuffed her pants with a pillow
to give her a big butt, then rollers, then let your
imaginzation go wild. The questions I used were:
1. Removes coffee & tea stains - Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
2. Helps to clean scorch marks from bottom of the pan –
clue: soak full strength - Parsons Ammonia
3. Remove rust stains from whites - Real Lemon Juice
4. Removes scratches from grass - Colgate Toothpaste
5. Removes grease stains in clothes - Crisco Vegetable
Shortening
6. Removes tomato-based stains out of fabrics - White
House Vinegar
7. Removes spilled coffee stains from floor - Hydrogen
Peroxide
8. Pour on broken egg to absorb the sticky spill - Morton
Salt
9. Remove water marks from wood furniture or remove
chewing gum from hair - Kraft Mayonnaise
10. Erases ink and grass stains from clothes - Rubbing
Alcohol
Janice -- Saturday, March 12 2005, 10:14 pm Amy, Karina, Connie and Toni; thank you for your
suggestions, there are so many to choose from on this site,
but yours fit the type of shower that I'm putting on for my
best friends daughter.

Lisa Dulaney -- Monday, March 21 2005, 12:24 pm This is a fun and active game:
Pass the bridal veil. You will need a tape player and a
tape of "Here comes the Bride". Have all the ladies sit in
chairs in a circle. Someone will start and stop the music
ramdomly and who ever is holding the veil is out. Have a
nice prize for the winner.

D. Rapier -- Tuesday, March 22 2005, 04:52 am Like many of you, I'm giving a bridal shower for a friend of

Ilda -- Wednesday, March 23 2005, 01:52 pm I have a really fun game for a couples party... Ask all the
ladies that are wearing skirts or dresses in the room to
come up. Place them all in a room away from the guests and
your stage. Take one individually and blind fold them. Next
you tell them that the goal of this game is to hop over as
many empty 2 liter pop bottles that are lined in a row
without knocking them over. Once she does start, place them
in her path so that she does knock some over. Then before
you take her blindfold off... have the groom lay where the
bottles were lined up.... When she removes her blind fold
watch the terror in her face when she realizes that someone
had just looked up her skirt.... This game is hilarious!!!
Repeat with the rest of the ladies. Have fun!
jeani -- Sunday, March 27 2005, 12:13 pm thanks for all the great ideas. my daughters shower, thrown
by her cousin has a tropical theme. they are going to
jamaica on there honeymoon. one game they thought of was.
attach a tropical silk flower to a clothespin and have
everyone wear it. then if anyone says the word "wedding",
the person who notices takes their flower. people can really
be decorated as they win flowers. the most at the end of the
shower gets a gift.
Shelly -- Tuesday, March 29 2005, 02:13 pm I don`t think older people would like these games and I am
talking about people around 55, FYI get new, better
games.......please
Laura -- Tuesday, March 29 2005, 02:15 pm Right on Shelly I was just going to write the same thing.
Haha but this is soooo true.
michelle -- Tuesday, March 29 2005, 07:10 pm I thought these games were great!!
Carolyn -- Wednesday, March 30 2005, 12:14 pm When I arrived at my bridal shower, I was so surprised to
see all of my bridesmaids in bad bridesmaids dresses from
the 80's and 90's. We couldn't stop laughing. The guests
were all surprised and amused once they got there, too. It
set the tone for a fun shower.
kara -- Thursday, March 31 2005, 12:00 am nice site! but there are to many of the same games and so
little time.
Ginna -- Thursday, March 31 2005, 02:28 pm my daughter's shower is April 23 and it has a French theme.
I am at a loss for favors for the guests and games. We have
glass effeil towers to use as flower vases. Also, I need
ideas for the menu. Please email me at:uper49@comcast.net
thanks
Jenn -- Thursday, March 31 2005, 03:02 pm I have done this at my sisters baby shower, and am planning
on doing it at my sister in laws wedding shower. You take an
old fashon egg time (the wind up kind) and randomly set it
while the birde to be opens her gifts. Whom ever's gift she
is opening when you hear the ding...gets a prize...keeos
peoples attentioln, and people get a little extra something
on top of the favor
Margo -- Friday, April 1 2005, 04:37 pm Im getting married April 30, 05 and it's very small I need

Monica -- Sunday, April 3 2005, 03:07 pm What about taking old pictures and put on a nice poster

she turn out to look like now
Kate -- Monday, April 4 2005, 06:00 pm Great ideas! LOVE the marshmallow cake one!
Karen -- Monday, April 4 2005, 08:33 pm I'm the mother of the groom (Jeremy) and attended a shower
for my future daughter on Saturday. We played a game that I
thought was pretty funny - - it was called "If not Jeremy,
then who?".
As each guest arrived at the shower, we were told that if
for some reason Jeremy became unavailable, the bride would
go hunting for a new bridegroom, and that she would choose
one of the men listed on a nametag that was being attached
to each guests' back.
It was our job to determine the name on our back, without
looking at the tag, by asking other guests questions that
could only be answered by "yes" or "no".
It was really fun to know that the famous person you were
searching for was considered "marriage material" by the
bride (she really gave it a lot of thought beforehand when
she made her list of candidates and didn't just go with a
bunch of pretty faces!).
areichard -- Tuesday, April 5 2005, 03:15 pm Awesome site. I am giving a shower for my best friend in 4

gets theres in the jar wins...if more then one gets theres
in the jar then u do a tigh breaker whoever gets the most

sarah -- Saturday, April 16 2005, 11:11 am At my big sister's shower played a game that was so fun
before the shower get some cleaning supplies that start with
the brides new name and have them in a bag. Then at the
shower make two teams and give each team a bag and tell them
to spell out the brides new name. Then tell the teams to
start the ones who get done 1st don't get anything in the
end the bride gets all the cleaning supplies. It is a great
game my sister loved it. And hope you do to.
Amy V. -- Saturday, April 16 2005, 10:06 pm Just thought I'd share something...I used the marshmallow
"cake" idea from June 28, 2004 for my friend's shower. It
was such a hit! Thanks to the person who left that
suggestion!!!
shirley -- Saturday, April 16 2005, 11:20 pm Thanks for the ideas. The games I had were 5+ years
old. One game is a little risque but it's fun. It's called
pin the penis on the man. You have a
male cut-out, ea. guest picks a different shaped/they are
really funny penis. The cut-out is
taped or tacked to a door or wall. Ea guest, one at a time
is blindfolded and takes their penis and trys to remember
where it should go. They can not
feel the picture or any parts of the cut-out. The
one that come's close or is the most accurate in taping
their penis is the winner. It's great laughs
and everyone is so intent on being the expert...
sharon -- Sunday, April 17 2005, 06:33 pm does anyone have the story of the wedding night that goes
with what the the bride says when she opens her gifts?
Teresa Colao -- Monday, April 18 2005, 01:07 pm Game-Everyone gets a closepin at their place setting (put
the wedding date on it). If anyone is caught saying the
grooms name they lose their closepin. The person with the

three people can win!

Whitney -- Thursday, April 21 2005, 01:21 am Here is a great game for a Lingerie shower:
Give each guest a sheet of paper with the following rules
and plenty of writing room
Lingerie Shower Game:
1) Don't let the bride know what's going on
2) As the bride opens up a gift, write down anything she
says that can be misinterperted as sexual in nature.
3) At the end of the gifts, fill the bride in on what was
being written down and read her "naughty quotes".
The guest with the most quotes is the winner...
It really can be quite funny!!!
Gretchen -- Thursday, April 21 2005, 03:01 am I am stuck planning a white trash bridal shower for a person
that does not even think I am her friend. The nicest place
I could convince the bride to have as the shower location
was a bowling alley. Please help if anyone has games that
can be played at a bowling alley.
Also, she is already planning her 2nd marriage with one
of the groomsmen - the groom knows this! All in all I have
my work cut out for me.
Any help is appreciated!

Sarah -- Friday, April 22 2005, 11:52 pm A tricky idea is to have the bride come out with a basket of
stuff like every day items and walk it around the room
showing everybody then after she leaves the room tell
everyone to write down every thing they can remember about
the brides outfit!
Sarah -- Friday, April 22 2005, 11:57 pm When opening presents set a timer to go off at some random
time. Whoever's present the bride to be is opening at that
time gets a prize.

Bethany -- Wednesday, April 27 2005, 11:26 am Awesome game ideas! I was looking for fun games for my
friend's bridal shower, and these were a big hit! Thanks so
much.
Sam -- Wednesday, April 27 2005, 03:31 pm Hey Ya'll. Thank so much i got like 12 games from this site.
I'm the maid of honor in my bigsisters wedding and one of
the bridesmaids and I are planning a lingerie party. It's
gunna be so much fun. I esp. liked the Makeover game. Can't
wait! Thx again.
Sam -- Wednesday, April 27 2005, 03:36 pm Oh I have a game idea for a lingerie shower. Have everyone
bring what they normally wear to bed and put it in a paper
bag with thier names on the bottom. Later the bride-to-be
will open the bags one by one and try to guess who brought
which bag. We did this once and the bride-to-be opened a bag
with nothing in it. We thought it was a mistake and then
some 80-year-old lady claimed it with a grin. It brought
tons of laughter. try it!
-- Thursday, April 28 2005, 06:00 pm Thanks
Keyta -- Thursday, April 28 2005, 06:00 pm Thanks!!!
Keri -- Friday, April 29 2005, 11:20 am I went to a shower a few weeks ago and we played a really
fun game. You go through a newspaper and find the
anniversary section. You cut out current pictures of couples
and the picture of them on their wedding day. You should try
to find about 10 couples pictures to use. You put all the
current pictures on one page and their wedding pictures on
another and letter (A, B, C...) the current pictures and
number (1, 2, 3...) the wedding pictures. You ask the guests
to match the current pictures with the wedding pictures. At
the shower I went to, we only had 3 minutes but you can
decide how long to give the guests to match them. The guest
with the most current wins! This is game is really hard, you
would think it would be easy but it's not! Have fun!
Nikki -- Monday, May 2 2005, 03:16 pm Thanks for all the good ideas. I am throwing part of my
sister's bachelorette party at a bowling alley. Does anyone
have any ideas to do at the bowling alley? Thanks!
Nikki -- Monday, May 2 2005, 06:04 pm Here is a really funny idea. This is something that will get
everyone, I mean everyone, cracking up!!!Pick a small group
of people (maybe 4 or so) from the party or shower to go
into a room away from everyone else where they can't hear
anything. Put a chair in the middle of the room and tell the
remaining guests that the chair represents a toilet. Don't
tell the people waiting in the room though. Have them come
out one at a time and assign them something to do while
sitting in the chair. The rule is they can't get up from the
chair. They have to do the activity sitting down. Pick
something creative for them to do (examples: act like you
just ate something really sour and you can't stand it, or
act like you are a cowgirl riding a horse). There are lots
of funny ideas to come up with. Tell each person when they
come out that they really need to get into character and act
out the part really well. Tell them before they do their
activity that the one who does the best job and makes
everyone laugh the most wins and gets a prize. After the
first person goes, have them go back to the room to wait and
send out the next person and so on until everyone has gone.
Don't tell any of them what is going on until everyone has
gone. After everyone has gone, have them all come out and
tell them that they were really sittng on a toilet. They
will have had no idea that they are supposed to be on the
toilet going to the bathroom while everyone else in the room
did! I'm telling you, this game is hilarious!
Jacci -- Tuesday, May 3 2005, 10:24 pm I really need the candy bar match game. I actually played

Jo -- Wednesday, May 11 2005, 11:25 am This is a very helpful site; thank you. As for those

My hat goes off to all of you have made my job of planning
games much easier.
Jess -- Wednesday, May 11 2005, 09:14 pm Thanks for the suggestions everyone...I'm using the
marshmallow game from near the beginning of these postings.
Here's a suggestion if anyone wants one. Remember Mad Libs?
I made my own called "The Wedding Night." On the first
page I wrote a list of the parts of speech that everyone had
to write down. Then on the second page was the story of the
wedding night. Everyone had to fill in the parts of speech
first without looking at the story. Then when everyone was
done, I had them fill in the parts of speech into the
corresponding blanks in the story. It made for some funny
stories...it was hilarious!
Wan -- Friday, May 13 2005, 01:58 pm I see everyone wants the game regarding the chocolate bars.

Susan -- Wednesday, May 18 2005, 11:00 pm A spin on the "Who Am I?" Game... This is a good mixer for
groups that do not all know each other. I loved the idea
about putting names/pictures of "marriage material" men
(alternates to the groom) on guests backs as they arrive,
and each person can ask only yes/no questions to figure it
out. My version of this is to put names/pictures of famous
brides on each guest's backs and do the same thing. They
can be famous (or infamous) brides from current pop culture
(think Brittany Spears), movies, novels, whatever you can
come up with that the crowd might like. Bride of
Frankenstein, Elizabeth Taylor, etc. Be creative and goofy!
Kel -- Wednesday, May 18 2005, 11:10 pm This is a great website, love the ideas and the comments! My

A Lot
Nikki -- Friday, May 20 2005, 03:23 pm Cathy,
These are the questions I am using for the newly wed game.
1. If you could be a super hero who would you be?
2. What is your favorite feature about (name of bride)?
3. What is the most embarrassing thing (name of bride)
has done around you?
4. Who made the first move?
5. Where was your first kiss?
6. What is your biggest pet peeve?
7. How many kids do you want?
8. What are you most afraid of?
9. Who is your favorite female celebrity?
10. If you had to compare (name of bride) to an animal
what would it be and why?
11. Who is your favorite music artist or group?
12. Who was your first girlfriend?
13. What is your favorite thing to do?
14. What is your favorite TV show?
15. What is the first movie you saw together?
16. What sports did you play in high school?
17. What is your dream car?
18. What is your favorite kind of soda?
19. When was (name of bride) the maddest at you?
20. What was your first impression of (name of bride)?
I hope this gives you some good ideas!
Also, the skit I suggested a couple of entries up is really
funny. It isn't dirty. We have done it at baskball banquets

Audra -- Friday, May 20 2005, 10:19 pm Thank you all for the nice postings. I have a personal
shower (lingerie) to host for my step sister tomorrow. This
has really helped me figure out how to fill up the time, so
the guests feel like they have had an enjoyable evening.
hawaiian pineapple -- Wednesday, May 25 2005, 12:56 am Hi! A lot of these ideas are just great! I actually threw
a jack-and-jill for my sister and we did pretty much the
same (w/variation) games mentioned here.
One of the games we played was "hot potato" for both the
kids and the adults: gifts were wrapped one on top of the
other, and this huge package was passed around. Once the
music stopped, the "loser" got to unwrap the first layer and
keep the prize. We used racier items for the adults (i.e.:
condoms, lubricants, gels, panties) and candies/toys for the
kids.
We also set up an "activity" table where we had placed
"stations". One station was simply the "guest book": this
was actually a phone book w/an Hawaiian theme on the front
cover, so guests could give their full address/ph #, and it
saved the bride and groom from having to organize it
themselves.
Another station was a notebook titled "Honeymoon 911":
here the guests offered their suggestions or warnings on
what the bride and groom should do/not do on their
honeymoon.
Another station was a paper bag filled with cotton
panties and a permanent marker (it was only placed in the
bag cuz kids were running around). The idea was to write a
word or phrase (i.e.: kiss me, touch me) and place it in
another paper bag. This bag filled with "written panties"
were then handed to the bride (or the groom or both) to use
as an "ice-breaker" to get them started on their honeymoon,
telling them that whatever panty is pulled from the bag on
their honeymoon must be worn and they must do what the panty
states.
Sorry this is so long. But we had a blast at the shower!
I wish I had seen this site before....like I said, the
ideas here are great!
cathy -- Wednesday, May 25 2005, 01:24 pm Thank you Nikki for the great questions!!
Just Some Guy -- Thursday, May 26 2005, 08:24 pm Great ideas ladies! I'm passing many of them on to my
sister-in-law-to-be who's too lazy to find ideas on her own.
If I find more elsewhere or come up with some on my own,
I'll come back to contribute. Thanks a bunch!

Sabryna -- Tuesday, May 31 2005, 03:24 pm Hi.. I am 13 years old and we are going to have a bridal
shower for my Aunt in about 2 weeks. I like these ideas but
I need some more. If anyone has game ideas that kida and
adults can play.. Email me @ babybree453@yahoo.com
Thnx!!
Enza -- Tuesday, May 31 2005, 07:32 pm This is fun. You have a timer and let the girls at each
table pass around a bag with a "prize" in it. Once the
timer stops, the "winner" gets to WEAR the prize.
some examples of the "winning prizes" were:
1) a feather boa and sunglasses
2) a plunger and shower cap
3) a feather duster and apron
4) a crown and wand (the 90year old aunt won this..haha)
5) a gigantic candy necklace with fake rings
6) long wedding gloves and fake earrings
7) a little girl's easter hat with various bracelets
the "winners" had to wear their prize for the entire shower.
It was hysterical.
another game: when the bride is opening her gifts have a
timer run. when it stops, whoever's gift she is opening wins
a prize.
lesleigh -- Tuesday, May 31 2005, 10:55 pm Hi all. I need your help. Does anyone have a story for mad
lib that I could use? I'm not creative in that area and i
could use some major help. I think mad libs are hilarious.
I was supposed to help a friend throw a shower. She planned
it when I'm gonna be on vacation but I told her I'd still
help with coming up with a game and prizes. Thanks so much!
fara -- Wednesday, June 1 2005, 03:05 am for the written agenda for candles:
A basket of candles tha come in a pair
In all different colors, for you two to share
The white ones burn first
They are wrapped in white lace
To celebrate your first married night
In your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner
Burn with the first company you have over for dinner
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight
Use them to burn while making up all night
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
For your first married Valentine's Day
Now, when your first year of marriage is through
the cream anniversary pair will light for you two.
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright
Celebrate promotions you've worked toward with all of your
might.
By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought you'd put these away
Take the light blue ones out for your fifth anniversary day.
Now just one more pair left for the big 25
The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
Congratulations bride and groom (enter names)
On the start of your forever
May the two of you always be happy together
And burn these candles
Just the way we said
But please don't forget - blow them out before bed!!
Sippan -- Wednesday, June 1 2005, 06:13 pm I found a lot of old games, but also found a lot of new
ones. A lot of people wanted the candybar names. If anyone
has them, please post on this site, that way we all can get
it and you only have to do it once.I am over 55 and I liked
most of the games. Not the racy ones, but I would not have
liked them when I was 18, so that has nothing to do with
age. I did think the one for the lingere shower was cute.
the older lady that put nothing in the bag.
Stacy -- Thursday, June 2 2005, 02:10 pm Could someone also email me the candy bar game ASAP?! I
would really appreciate it! Thanks!

mandie -- Friday, June 3 2005, 01:08 am Thank you so much for the idea's. I am throwing a shower for
my new sister in law that I have never met or even talked
to... she lives out of state, and this will be the first
time she meets most of the family.
If anyone has the story that goes along with the things
she says when she opens her gifts could you please email it
to me.... thanks again for all you help and time... tillie@wowway.com
Chanda -- Friday, June 3 2005, 01:21 pm I have a party to throw tomorrow. I rather um...volunteered
to rescue this bride because nobody could think of what to
do and she doesn't want to do anything. I think this site is
a lifesaver! I am excited and it's going to be fun. I don't
really know anyone there because it is my new boyfriends
family. I think it will be nice for us all to get to know
one another. My idea is to use these personal questions
found on this page, and make a photo album with each of the
girl's pages on it so the new bride...who apparently isn't
close to anyone because she's rather shy (nobody really
knows her either) will have something to go by...she and we
will get to know one another in ways we might otherwise have
not. I think once we get into the games, everyone will
loosen up and really have alot of fun!
Dolly -- Friday, June 3 2005, 09:52 pm Enjoyed this site. Thanks for all the ideas.
Scamp -- Saturday, June 4 2005, 12:34 pm Don't have the original "candy bar wrap", but made up my own
as follows, including the original ones: Something you
don't want to say on your honeymoon: OH HENRY Something you
don't want your husband to have on your wedding night:
BUTTERFINGER When you have kids you don't want them to be:
NERDS or RUNTS Something you don't want to hear while
going down the aisle: SNICKERS Something you don't want to
keep during your marriage: SKOR Something you hope you
win: 100 GRAND When you have kids, you want them to be
SMARTEES or SWEETTARTS Something you both can never get
enough of: KISSES Something that may come along after 9
months: BABY RUTH Something (Groom's name) hopes (Bride's
name) is: HOT TAMALES Something to do whenever you get
into an argument: TAKE 5 Something you hope your marital
relations are: GOOD & PLENTY Something you refrain from
telling each other: WHOPPERS Something (Groom's name)
needs after buying your ring: PAYDAY You and (Groom's
name) enjoy a great love, no matter: WHATCHAMACALLIT

Lindsay -- Monday, June 6 2005, 03:53 pm A friend and I are throwing a lingerie shower for another of
our friends this weekend. I LOVE the idea of each guest
writing a sexual suggestion in permanent marker on a pair of
white panties and giving them to the bride as icebreakers
for the wedding night. Another game we're playing that I
didn't see on this site is "Pin The Panties on the Bride".
We're going to draw a bride standing with her back to us on
white paper and hang it on the wall. She's going to be
naked except for a veil made of tulle on her head. Each
guest will get a pair of decorated paper panties with
phrases such as "Just Married", "Here Comes The Bride",
"Bride-To-Be", etc., written on them. We're going to
blindfold the guests one at a time and get them to try to
tape their "panties" on the bride's naked butt. Whoever
comes closest to getting the panties on the butt will win a
sexy card game, to be given to the bride for her wedding
night.
I haven't seen it mentioned here much, but at all of the
showers I have ever thrown and been to, we have given all
the prizes to the bride or mother-to-be, regardless of who
won the prize. Maybe that's just a Southern thing!
Carol -- Tuesday, June 7 2005, 10:10 pm Just heard of a cute game. All you need is a bathroom scale.
Guests are sitting in a circle and you weigh everyone's
purse. The one with the heaviest purse wins a prize. Guests
can also guess before you weigh them who has the heaviest
purse.
Lindsay -- Tuesday, June 7 2005, 11:43 pm If anyone has the bridal shower candy bar game could you
e-mail it to me ldance03@hotmail.com
Thanks
Chantal -- Thursday, June 9 2005, 10:14 am Hi you all, I just wanted to thank everyone for the great
ideas, I have my best friends shower/stagette next weekend
and I got all my games from this site, I was pretty nervous,
but now I'm anxious.
Here's another fun game, buy a poster of a half naked man,
bring out all kinds of lipsticks and set them on the table,
pin up the poster, blinfold every guest one and a time and
get them to try to kiss as close to the private part as
possible. This game is hilarious, especially when you've
had a few drinks.
thanks again.
mollie -- Thursday, June 9 2005, 03:08 pm i'm so glad i found this site. you have some great ideas.
a game thats also fun is to have a bowl with rice and small
safety pins. blindfold the people and then see how many
pins they can pull out. its harder then it sounds and a lot
of fun.
Terri -- Friday, June 10 2005, 12:00 am For My daughters bridal shower we played pin the hose on the
fireman. Each took a turn in being blindfolded, spun 3 times
and than let go to pin the hose on the poster of the
fireman. Closest to where it belongs wins.lol
Tricia -- Saturday, June 11 2005, 02:53 pm Im the maid of honor and i am throwing a bridal shower for
my best friend and i've gotten alot of good info from this
website!!!!! Just for info I made CD's as party favors and
it had love songs on it. I purchased blank Cd's and blank Cd
labels designed the labels and voila! I inserted a thank you
note from the bride so that way she didn't have to mail out
thank you notes and everyone leaves with something they will
actually use. I thought that idea was a neat spin and I hope
it goes over well.
Ms. Chic -- Sunday, June 12 2005, 03:10 pm This site was very, very, very useful in planning my best
friend's bachelorette party. Thanx so much for the
suggestions! Now I know it will be a blast!
Joanne. -- Sunday, June 12 2005, 10:23 pm Hi, I was at was at a wedding shower and this game idea is
hilarious. The girls had the brides grandmother at some
point in the shower get up and walk in front of everyone
with this big purse. She pretended to trip and drop her
purse so that all of the contents fall out onto the floor in
front of everyone.(Hint- Try do do this one everyone is
seated) Fill the purse with condoms, sex toys, cigarettes,a
mickey of vodka etc. you get the idea. Just fill it with
things most grandmothers would usually not carry. Then, she
will quickly pick the objects up and put them back into the
purse. Tell them that they now have to write down what they
remember was in the purse. the person with the most correct,
WINS. You will kill yourself laughing at the faces of the
people when they notice what she has in thiis purse. Grandma
also has to do a little acting in this as well.
Michael Jackson -- Monday, June 13 2005, 03:17 pm uuuu!...this place is wonderful it gives me an idea of how I
want my dress!I think that day I will invite the dueño of
this site!
Debbie -- Tuesday, June 14 2005, 12:05 am I am giving a bridal shower for my step-daughter next
weekend. I'm looking for help reconstructing a game I played
at a shower years ago. You hand the bride a pair of oven
mitts and a pair of panty hose. She must put on the panty
hose while wearing the oven mitts. Someone records
everything she says as she struggles with this task. Those
comments are then applied as the answers to a list of
questions. Does anyone have the questions or an idea for the
questions? I would really appreciate the help as I've yet
to find them on the internet. Thanks!
Tiffany -- Tuesday, June 14 2005, 01:39 pm A great idea is to ask everyone on the invitations to wear
an old bridesmaid dress to the shower. You can give prizes
for best/worse etc. Guests look forward to "dressing up" and
seeing what everyone else shows up in too! It is really
funny especially when people have held on to bridesmaid
dresses from the 70's & 80's!

much fun and very hard to!

Jolee -- Wednesday, June 15 2005, 03:47 am A fun game to play -- hand out sturdy paper plates and
markers. Have each of the guests place the plate on top of
their head and try to draw the brides dress, or dream house
or anything you want. Let the Bride be the judge! Lots of
laughs.
Lisa Marie -- Wednesday, June 15 2005, 07:02 pm GREAT IDEAS. A fun game to play is ask every person to
bring a dollar bill. Place a large fake tree next to the
bride's to be chair. A head of time have several questions
and answers you have asked the groom. Pass out the cards to
all the guess. each guess are to read the card, if the
bride to be answers the question correctly that guess are to
pin their dollar bill on the tree making a money tree. If
the bride to be do not answer the question correctly, the
guess keeps their dollar bill. (examples: what was the most
embarrassing thing (the bride's name) ever did, who made
the first move, what is your favorite food.
I had a great time, I hope you enjoy it as well.

jenn -- Monday, June 20 2005, 01:33 pm I am looking for a game I played the past that had a rhyming

the biggest purse, who had blue eyes, etc. Any help finding
it would be appreciated!

before. you guys have giving me a lot of ideas! thanks!
Amy H -- Monday, July 18 2005, 11:52 pm Here are some that I haven't seen on this website
get to know you game. This is really fun. Split up into
2 teams, and the hostess holds a blanket up between the
teams. Each team picks a strategy, sends one person up to the
blanket. The blanket is lowered and each person tries to
yell out the other persons name first. Whoever loses, goes
over to the other team, it continues until there is only one
team.
Fill pretty bottles with candy, pass them around, have the
guests try to guess the amount. I have used M$Ms and
skittles. Whoever guesses correctly, wins the bottle.
Another get to know you game. Have each guest write
something they don't think anyone knows about them. The
hostess reads the comments and everyone tries to guess who
it is.
Also I just buy inexpensive door prizes, then pull the
guests name out of a basket throughout the party.
Personal- At a baby shower I hosted, I bought swarovsky
crystals, $ freshwater pearls, then had each guest go around
and say something they wished for the baby, and the mother
while they put a bead on for each of them. The mom loved it.
I am throwing a bridal shower for my sister and I wired
glass beads and pearls on a silver charm bracelet and bought
a charm for each guest to put on. They will each read a
card they have prepared about their favorite memory of her.
we will place the card in a book, $ the charm on the
bracelet, that way, she has a charm chosen for her but a
bracelet made by her closest friends. sorry so long

Dana -- Tuesday, July 26 2005, 12:53 am Here's a twist on a couple of games. Pass out the
clothespins and set the "non-speaking word" such as wedding.
Then when you do the jumbled words...have wedding as one of
the words. Then just have a shout out of words during that
game instead of you reading the answers...some will catch
on, and some won't...I never do. I always lose my clothespin
during that game :-D

For Cheryl -- Wednesday, July 27 2005, 09:10 pm Before the shower the hostess draws up a long list of items
which you would expect to find in a woman's purse and
allocates each item with a number of points from one to
twenty, depending on how unusual the item would be, ranging
say for one point for a comb to three points for a mirror
and five points for nail clippers. Other items could be a
driver's license, lipstick, key ring with more than five
keys on, a key ring with more than ten keys on, more than
five credit cards, more than ten credit cards etc.
Each guest in turn shows the hostess the items which she
wants credited to her points tally and the guest with the
highest amount of points wins the game. If there are any
items on the list, or anything particularly unusual the
bride and hostess could act as the judges to award a special
points award.
A variation on this game could be to see who has the most
items in their purse, or who has the heaviest purse.
future sis-in-law -- Wednesday, July 27 2005, 09:54 pm Here's the game Megan was looking for.
Peculiar Game
This is a rather peculiar game.
It really does not have a name.
It's simple to play, as a game should be.
You just do as you're told, you see.
So now if you'll please give me your attention
We'll put an end to this suspension.
In the end, whoever scores the most
Will receive a prize of which to boast.
Now since you're all fashionable girls
Give yourself 5 if you have any pearls. You may add 3 if
your toes peek out.
And earrings will give you 2 more to shout.
Score yourself 5 if you show any red.
Add 6 more for a curl on your head.
Now before you think you are going to win
Take away 2 for each safety pin.
Give yourself 6 if your pants are tight.
Add 1 for a scarf, which is just about right.
Add 5 more if your shoes are black.
And take away 3 for a zipper in back.
Now count all your buttons, for each you get 2.
And take away 1 for each button that's blue.
Give yourself 5 if your heels are high.
And why not take 10 for the green in your eye.
10 more points for a rose on your clothes.
Take away 5 if you forgot to wear hose.
If your husband you kissed today - add 9.
If you didn't subtract 12 - you're subject to fine.
This is the end...there isn't anymore.
Who is the lucky lady with the highest score?
I also found this game today and can't wait to try it at
my future sis-in-law's shower this weekend.
Mouse Trap Game
First tie a long string to the back of a belt. Give each
player a raw hot dog. When it is her turn, each player
should carefully tie the string to one end of her hot dog.
(You may also poke a hole in the hot dog and thread the
string through.) She then puts the belt on and the hostess
adjusts the string so the hot dog is hanging just below her
knees. Next set a mouse trap and place it in the middle of
the floor. The object is for the player to set off the mouse
trap with the hot dog by squatting over it (no hands!) but
without getting the hot dog caught. If no one does it
without getting their hot dog caught then the person with
the longest hot dog left wins.
CHEERS!!!

Cleaning Supplies. I want it for my friends bridal shower.

Rachel -- Saturday, July 30 2005, 01:18 pm Great ideas, but i am looking for something that can be done
for my hen night, there will be around 15-20 and it will be
held in a restaurant.
I am getting married September 15th in Spain.
Ashley -- Saturday, July 30 2005, 01:36 pm Thanks so much for the ideas. my new sister-in-law is going
to have a blast now! Thanks again!
party planner -- Saturday, July 30 2005, 01:51 pm There's really not much you can do in a restaurant, inless
they have a banquet room you can rent. Pretty much all you
can do is eat, talk, and open gifts however the gifts to the
restaurant would be a little crowded for the other paying
customers, not to mention the noise level. Is there any way
you can rethink the idea as to where so everyone could be as
loud as they choose without grandma and grandpa tellin ya to
shut up all night? Make sure it's a suitable location and
will ensure you and your guests to have the perfect evening
without complaints. Maybe you can meet at the restaurant for
dinner, then drive to a rented hall for the party. (ie.
apartment clubhouses, banquet halls, city parks, american
legion hall, family/friends home)
sobee -- Sunday, July 31 2005, 11:32 pm Does any one know of a game played with cards but similar to
take-away bingo?

left for me. Hope they get to you in the nick of time. Have
Fun !!!
Kat -- Saturday, August 6 2005, 12:36 pm This sight was wonderful for last minute bridal shower
planning! Thanks so much to everyone who contributed ideas.
One twist I am using is I am going to pass around a bags
with items in them and tell the guests they are items the
couple will need for their honeymoon. They will be things
that can be dirty but aren't. For example I will include a
piece of candy that feels like a condom wrapper. If a small
toothpaste tube that could be a tube of lube. Should be
funny, or at least I hope.
tracy -- Saturday, August 6 2005, 08:16 pm im looking for a poem to write on an index card for people
to fill out their name and address for the bride to be so
she doesnt have to search for address after the shower any
good poems? thank you
Dee Dee -- Monday, August 8 2005, 12:14 pm When I got married 7 years ago, we played a game called Love
Story. It isn't the typical household items game. It is a
mad libs type game. I have the actual sheet you fill out but
I don't have the story that you read. You fill in the
blanks, then when everyone is finished, you read the love
story. As you read, you call on different guests to fill in
the blanks from the words on their own game sheets. Some of
the "fill ins" are On Monday mornings, I always feel ______.
Anyway, if someone has the actual story to read, I would
love to have it. I'm throwing a bridal shower in a few weeks
and would love to play this. Thanks.
tink -- Tuesday, August 9 2005, 07:20 am i cant wait to be married but i got on to look at wedding
gowns an came here an you guys gave me some really good
ideals thanks by
Kristy -- Tuesday, August 9 2005, 01:55 pm Thanks everyone, this was so helpful one stop shop for
games. I'm doing my sister-in-law's bridal shower in a
couple weeks and now I know what I'm doing. At my shower we
played a different version of the newlywed game mentioned
here. Before the shower ask the groom about 15 questions,
then ask each question, give each guest a paddle (use a
paper plate and a popsicle stick - put a chech mark on one
side and an x on the other side) ask them if they think the
bride will get the question right or wrong, for everyone you
guesses right give them a hershey's kiss, whoever has the
most kisses at the end wins a prize, as for the bride for
every question she gets wrong give her a piece of gum to
chew... Cheers!
Trisha -- Tuesday, August 9 2005, 03:11 pm This is an awesome site! Thank you very much for all of your
help! This really helped me with my sister's bridal shower!
Thanks again!
Lisa -- Tuesday, August 9 2005, 03:17 pm I am looking for a bridal shower game that is set up as a
love poem that the groom writes to the bride. It is set up
as a "fill in the blank" with fruits ....etc: we make a
great Pear.....Does anyone know where to find the entire
letter?
sami -- Wednesday, August 10 2005, 06:14 pm I am also looking for the candy bar memory game. I think
the one that I am looking for, when they match two things
such as rings, the bride has to tell the story of the
proposal. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? If you
could help, my email is samncam@msn.com. The shower is Saturday,
(8-13-05) so the quicker the better, thanks.
Andrea -- Wednesday, August 10 2005, 06:50 pm Thankyou so much for the great games, Also I have one which
is fun
You get sets of mens clothes like shirts, pants, tie, socks
ect. and have guest race to see who is the fastest to change
into the mens clothes first one wins.
Linda -- Thursday, August 11 2005, 01:26 am A game that I like to play at bridal showers is to pass
around a basket. In the basket you have a box of kleenex, a
box of round toothpicks, several sticks of gum and index
cards. You ask each lady to take one of each. (A kleenex, a
toothpick, a piece of gum with the wrapper, and an index
card) Then you give everyone five minutes to create a
wedding gown for the bride out of these items.
Another good game is to pass around a toilet paper roll.
Ask everyone to "take as much as they think they need".
(Some people will take one square, some will take a long
piece.) When everyone has a piece, tell them to tie a bow
for the bride's wedding dress out of the toilet paper behind
their backs!
With both of these games, the bride sits out and picks a
winner.
- -- Friday, August 12 2005, 01:17 pm I think your ideas were ok, but I really think that you need
a much much bigger variety and more games that dont need so
many materials.
Melissa and Danella -- Friday, August 12 2005, 05:41 pm HI !!!! these are fun games !!! we loved them, we have to do
them tonight because tonight is Melissa's Bridal shower. I
hope they work out well !!!!
Lora -- Tuesday, August 16 2005, 12:19 am Supply each guest with a piece of paper and a BRAND NEW pen
or pencil. Have them write their name on one side of the
paper. Then have them flip the paper over. You can now
instruct them to draw a picture of the bride on her wedding
day BUT only by holding the pen or pencil in their mouth.
Give them 1-2 minutes to draw and have the bride flip
through the pictures choosing which one is the best. Best
one wins the prize!
Jennifer -- Tuesday, August 16 2005, 04:31 pm Another version of the nametag notch game - make up little
paper wedding dresses for everyone. If someone hears
someone else say "Wedding" they can take that person's dress
and whoever has the most dresses at the end wins a prize.

Becky -- Monday, August 22 2005, 06:44 pm It seems a lot of these games are exactly the same as all
the games posted on every other bridal shower website. I
think you need some more original, creative games.
-- Tuesday, August 23 2005, 05:06 pm I learned this from my friend. Give the players some sort
of paper bag. Ask them to put it on their hand. Your
direction for them is to take off an item on them. You can
suggest things like earrings, watch... whoever figures out
that they can also take off the paper bag on their head
should be quiet to let the other players keep taking off
items on them or at least get frustrated as they ran out of
things to take off. It's funny to have one person left with
the paper bag on them.
beth -- Tuesday, August 23 2005, 08:46 pm great site
I plan to use alot of these games
Carrie -- Tuesday, August 23 2005, 08:52 pm little game I just came up with. I call it did you
questions. each one is worth 5 points the person with the
most points wins a prize.
1.did you kiss your man before you came to the shower?
2. did you sweep your kitchen today? ect. its alot of fun
3. did you wash your hair today?
4. did you tell you kids you loved them today?
you can make up many questions
you would be surrprized that people don't do alot of house
cleaning
Wendi -- Wednesday, August 24 2005, 07:27 pm I moved out of state and am the maid of honor at my sister's
wedding. Rather than hosting a shower and having to fly
back home, I suggested a "virtual shower". The invitations
are emailed to the guests that lists a website where the
bride will be posting messages. Gifts are mailed to the
bridge. As she opens her gifts, the bride posts what she
got. The thank you's are emailed to each guest.
For games, the guests are emailed questions about the
bride. The one with the most correct answers wins an
emailed gift certificate. Another way to do it is if you
have access to a webcam....then the guests can log on and
watch the bride open her gifts.
Shower favors can be a custom designed screen saver
emailed to the guest.
Something like this saves everyone time - which we all
need now-a-days and I think it will be the bridal shower of
the future.

Helen -- Friday, September 2 2005, 04:47 pm I give showers all the time - most of the time I have them
at a restaurant in the banquet room. I have found so many
games on this sight that I can play. THIS SIGHT IS AWESOME!
I have a variation of the Cake Game.
DIFFERENT KINDS OF CAKE
(answers in parenthesis)
Once upon a time a young man fell in love with a
beautiful young woman. She did like him, however, he was a
guy who liked to __________ (LOAF) around on street corners
and __________ (SPONGE) off all his friends. Always being
__________ (SHORT) of cash, he frequently dined on doughnuts
and __________ (COFFEE).
He was very shy and with all the courage he had, he
proposed to the young woman, saying, "Will you be my bride?"
to which she replied, __________ (NUTS), not on your life!
No one will ever see me at your __________ (WEDDING)!" This
saddened the young man, but he did not sulk. In spite of
her treatment, he thought her a perfect __________ (ANGEL),
and each time he saw her, his heart turned _________
__________ (UPSIDE DOWN).
One day, as lovers will, he sent her a __________ (POUND)
of candy tied with a beautiful bow. She returned it and he
thought her heart must be made of __________ (MARBLE).
One day he met her on the bridge and asked her for a
__________ (DATE). This time she turned __________ (WHITE)
with anger and passed by. Looking down into the river, he
said, "So this is the __________ (FRUIT) of my endeavors; my
cup of sorrow is running over."
Then he jumped into the __________ (CURRENT) and when he
was found he was placed under a __________ (LAYER) of sod.
(THE END OF A SAD, SAD STORY!)
Tina -- Sunday, September 4 2005, 09:29 pm This was great! Thanks to all who contributed!
Talia -- Wednesday, September 7 2005, 04:07 am This was loads of fun for a babyshower:
After guests arrive at shower, hand them a dixie cup that
has frozen water. Inside each frozen cup is a baby (plastic
party favors). The winner is the guest whose baby floats to
the top the fastest after the water has melted. Everyone at
the shower's fingers were numb from trying to melt the ice
the quickest.
